I dont think he gets enough credit hes a little underrated and he doesn't get much love on here for me! if he had boxed a little more in the hagler fight could he have won that fight ?
An Atg and everyone knows it. That's pretty much universally recognized. But in the Hagler fight, there are times when did try to box but he couldn't keep MMH off of him as Hagler gave him no space whatsoever. Surprised this isn't on the Classic.
Definitely agree. I've pointed out many times that in the middle of round 1, Hearns is trying to box Hagler, and having some success at range, but Hagler was able to get to him. Hearns tried to box a lot on the backfoot and using lateral movement from the 2nd round on, but Hagler kept getting to him. Hagler adapted perfectly to Hearns's strengths and took it close. Hearns was not only extremely difficult to box at long range, but also most dangerous when he got more distance so he could get more leverage for that right hand (Cuevas, Hearns, Shuler).
He's rated: Top 5 Welterweight of all time GOAT Junior middleweight by many. He's rated appropriately.
