This is meant to be the premier Classic Forum around right?? Well here is one of THE PREMIER 'classic' boxers of all time - courtesy of, you guessed it - Rareboxing [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJzv_jP_ARs[/ame] ENJOY:hi:
Thank you again Rareboxing for this old but good nugget of Loughran/ Delaney fight...You are doing a service to boxing fans showingthese gems of yesteryear...I, as an old fight fan look forward to what is coming next... Incidentally my idol Harry Greb licked Jimmy Delaney three times..While we will most likely see film of the Pittsburgh Windmill, we can see a miniscule amount of his great and much larger opponents Greb whipped in his amazing career...Thanks once again....
Addendum...I meant we most likely NEVER see films of Harry Greb fighting...The film showing Greb fooling around with his50 year old trainer Phil. Jack O'Brien, is no indication of Greb's style or talent...He was playing around with O,Brien who owned the gym before Greb,s bout with Mickey Walker in 1925...b.b.
Fight was on the undercard of Dempsey Tunney I, which of couse I have both fights, lol. Higlights of the Loughran Delaney fight before the massive major bout Dempsey Tunney 1. Loughran spared with Dempsey leaded to the bout, and Delaney show his skill on his part sparing with World heavyweight Champ Gene Tunney, the footage runs about 45 mins. or so. Pretty neat to see how the build up of the fight of the century and a half had this undercard on it lol.
