Hardest one punch means little. What matters is combination punching, timing, handspeed, two fisted power, accuracy, finishing ability...all of which Tyson possesses far superior to Morrison thus making him a much greater all around puncher than Morrison

Which is why Tyson cleaned out half of decades worth of great fighters while PED Morrison had only one career win over a top 10 contender

I do think Tyson hit as hard at least as Morrison. Look what he did to granite chinned guys like Holmes Tubbs Thomas who had never been stopped before.

Morrison made a career out of knocking out tomato cans. What durable elite fighter did he ever knock out?

I can believe that Morrisson's power was slightly superior to Tyson's. He also, like Tyson, had very nice combos. Was more careless than Tyson, though, and didn't have as good a chin.

Tyson was better far the more effective puncher, the better KO puncher and better finisher. If you want to qualify it as otherwise to make Morrison look better than he was, go ahead.

Morrison’s combinations were nowhere near Tyson’s. And superior to Tyson in power? Based on what? What top 10 contender did Morrison ever knock out? Answer 0

How many top 10 men has Tyson knocked out? Over 10

They need to make him look better than he was, to make foreman’s loss to him look less embarrassing. From what I’ve heard around these parts, Morrison magically turned himself into a great fighter the night he fought foreman. He became intellectually superior and adapted the perfect game plan to defeat a monster of a man that no one else could replicate.

Wasn't Ruddock top 10 when they met?

Anyhow, power is not the same as geting the KO's. Williams, Shavers, Ruddock and Bruno are other examples of fighters with scary power that failed to KO many top fighters.

Tyson was a much sharper finisher that Morrison and his sturdier chin and better defense meant that he would be more likely to stick around to get the job done. Morrison probably hurt Mercer more than either Holy or Lewis did, but due to his vulnerabilities Mercer managed to turn the table on him before he got Mercer out of there.

Has anyone said anything else? Hard puncher isn't necessarily the same as effective puncher.

No ruddock was not. They fought in 95. The last time ruddock would ever be rated was when he was rated in the top 10 in early 1992. He had just one fight in three years 92-95 and was coming off a long layoff when he fought Morrison.

Mercer...one of the few live fighters he ever faced...destroyed him in that 5th round.

Morrison had a lifestyle like Tyson and you could argue he was washed up in his 20s like Mike. Bentt was not a complete accident.

I don't even necessarily buy that. Tyson was hitting far more prime and/or active versions of those fighters. But if it makes you feel better, keep repeating it.
