It was short, very quick, compact and landed like a sledge hammer. Just wish he would of taken his training camps more seriously.

he hit mercer with some shots, damn mercer had a chin in his prime. yeah I wish morrison never would have done rocky. maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't have become a superstar too early and overvalued himself.

    No, no he didn't.

A guy with one of the best hooks does not struggle with shot Carl Williams, Joe Hipp, and Ross Purity.

He sure as hell would not loose to Michal Bent, who had brain damage BEFORE the fight, and would soon have to retire.

Morrison was a package- and untalented club fighter with a decent hook, steroids, and an image consultant.

I don't rate it as one of the best of all-time but it was good and he was a fun fighter to watch. With his pitiful Glass Jaw, impressive punching power, and all-around skills you knew that he was either going to flatten somebody or be flattened in embarrassing fashion. Too bad he went and got the AIDS.:patsch

Tommy is one of my all-time favorite fighters precisely for this reason. You KNEW, in a Morrison fight, SOMEBODY was gonna taste canvas.:yep

It was a badass left hook and he usually made for an exciting fight. His story is a tragedy in boxing's history.

No doubt, because having a great left hook translates automatically to being a great fighter, right?

We'll take a page out of your book. An "untalented club fighter" doesn't school George Foreman and stop Razor Ruddock.

Morrison wasn't the best fighter. His durability and resolve were lacking, but he did have a tremendous left hook. That much can't be denied.

No, but when you hit Carl Williams repeatedly and nothing happens- the same Carl williams who was wiped out by not only Tyson, but by Mike Weaver, if means your hook is not that good.

George Foreman was 43 years old. Yes, he want on to win the title, but he was still a 43 year old man. Since Morrison boxed in the match, it really had little to do with his hook. Also, he admitted to taking steroids for the fight.

Ruddock had been destoryed by Tyson, Lewis and David Jaco. His chin was shot.

He had a good left hook, and a good one only. Even saying "tremendous" is not the same as saying "one fo the best left hooks in the history of the heavyweights."

It pays to actually read the title of the thread you are commenting on.

Having a tremendous left hook and a glass jaw at the same time made Morrison exciting to watch.
