He stopped Ruddock, a man Tyson took the distance. One left hook actually picked Ruddock off his feet.

Morrison at his best could box some. His first three rounds vs Mercer, who won the gold medal and had a good jab himself shows this. Most heavies would have been out or discouraged at the very least that night. But Mercer was very tough and also focused. When Morrison ran out of gas, Mercer took over.

I actually think his son Trey ( now 13-0, 13Ko's ) is ahead of where Tommy was at the same point in his career simply because he can hit, and shows some defense. The question is did he inherit his father's chin?

But back to Tommy Morrison, he could hit. It's not only he fought, it's how violently he moved them when he connected.
