ESB: Usyk based on his wins over Joshua is favorite over Liston, Foreman, Marciano, among other top 10 ATGs.

Also ESB: Tommy Morrison who was knocked out in a round by a no-name fighter, would be able to replicate Usyk's performance and in fact improve upon them with a KO.

I'm no mathematician but something doesn't add up.

It's the same thing with Wilder and Fury.

 

Because AJ isn't Morrison level and Usyk is a Cruiserweight.

Morrison brutally beats Joshua, Joshua can't take a punch, especially not from Morrison...

Joshua would pick Morrison apart.
Morrison wouldn't get in position to test Joshua's chin and get beaten up in the process.
A pretty routine fight.
Unless I'm thinking of a different Tommy Morrison ??

 

Because:
1. Both Joshua and Morrison are/were above average Heavyweights.
2. Usyk had not long moved up into the HW division and had not been tested with a highly ranked opponent, prior to meeting Joshua.
3. Usyk's manner of victory (x2) was superbly executed and left no doubt, as to who was the superior heavyweight of the two.

An additional point, however, is that the extent to which people want to rate Joshua or Usyk (or Morrison) is at their discretion but, either way, needs to remain relative to the division's talent pool, at the time. With this in mind, it's interesting to speculate on how well one thinks Joshua would have done in Morrison's day.

Personally, I am not sure Joshua beats even the '94 version of 'Old Foreman' and he quite likely gets taken out very early by Lewis ('95). Suffices to say that I don't think there is a whole lot between Joshua and Morrison, in terms of a head-to-head.

 

The thought of Morrison beating Wlad is pretty funny. Not as funny as Joshua somehow losing to 93 Foreman though.

 

You must have found Joshua’s beating from and capitulation to Ruiz Jr, at MSG, extremely amusing then.

 

I think Morrison is wildly underrated as a fighter nowadays. He had the skills and he had the punch to go with it. I reckon he'd have decent chances of getting the W over AJ. That said, AJ is himself becoming wildly underrated. I'd have to favour him due to his combination of sheer size and decent technical skills. People are forgetting that his resume is nothing to sneeze at and that he probably hits even harder than Tommy. Let's say 60-40. I think that's about right.

Wlad without a ref to protect him from Morrison is getting hooked around the jaw sooner or later. If slo-mo Peter can put Klitscko into disarray then so can Morrision.

 

Morrison really wasn’t a 12 round fighter. Joshua has late stoppages and little issue doing 12. It’s not a good match up for Tommy.

Morrison is nowhere near Usyk.

 

Sure, I agree. But I think Tommy has a decent chance based on his firepower and skills. I do favour AJ.
