Just thought I’d make a little thread about Tommy and see what everyone thinks about him. This video is pretty well made, but I think it cuts him a little too much slack.

Any thoughts on him or the video?

Exciting fighter. Explosive with nice technique. A fight between him and Tyson might have been very exciting or Tommy might have taken a too conservative approach and stunk the place out a bit. Anyway Mike wins by KO.

As for the film, yeah it does seem to give him a bit of a pass for his losses and the one against Lewis isn't even mentioned, is it? It also said nothing about him using PEDs. Interesting that he might have been diagnosed already in 1989, though.

Quite dark if it's true, that many people who could've been infected.
But yes, he did cut him too much slack. Lewis pummeled him

The impression you get from watching the video and the one you’d get from other sources can be night and day on occasion.

It doesn’t mention his steroid use or that he lost most of his important fight.
(Lost against first live dog in Mercer)
(Lost against Bent in first title defense)
(Lose to Lewis sort of proved he just wasn’t on that level)

I don’t want to disparage the guy, but it also doesn’t mention just how much he lost his mind in the end. If your interested look at his interviews during the 2000s.

Two of the Dukes sons are currently fighting. Think both are undefeated but early in careers
