Tommy's chin wasn't great, but it's better than that fraud Wilder's. And he hit harder - Morrison actually knocked out guys who were decent fighters, not tomato cans. Morrison KO 1, brutally.
When Wilder Beats a really capable fighter, and not some dried out Tomato Can, then I would say maybe yes, until then no... Morrison KO 4..
Are you kidding? Even Joe Hipp, who is a fringe contender at best, is light-years better than Scott, whose record is almost as padded as Wilder's. Ruddock was still a contender when Morrison KOd him and at the time that was thought to be very much a crossroads fight. Wilder is a fraud, with an obvious glass jaw just waiting to be shattered. If a Tommy Morrison-type fighter were around today, you can bet your bottom dollar his management would avoid him like the plague, just like they do any real competition.
Ruddock was not a contender when Morrison beat him. Except for facing behemoth Anthony Wade, he hadn't fought in years, since his beatdown from Lewis. I am pretty sure that no organization had him ranked but feel free to prove me wrong. While Wilder may in fact be a glass jaw just waiting to be shattered, Morrison WAS a glass jaw that had been shattered.
Exactly.. Morrison's record is loaded with "names" but none of them prime, making his record just as padded as Wilder's. Deontay can at least claim that he was never beaten by journeyman and would have a huge height advantage. I think the duke loses inside of three.
A case of whoever connects first, regardless I think it ends in the early rounds. I'd pick Wilder to bomb "The Duke" out with his straight right likely in the first or second round, Morrison was one of the better offensive fighters but I think Wilder's powerful straight right hand would lead to his demise. The jury is still out on Wilder I feel he has proved that he is a force to be reckoned with but how much of a force he is time will tell.. But one thing I do think is forsure is that he has one of the better power straight right hands I've ever seen which is a great weapon to have.
