Tommy Morrison vs Deontay Wilder

What is the basis for Wilder having a glass chin? He's never lost as a pro, and to my knowledge has only been down once several years ago.

He showed decent durability against Stiverne, who most of you were picking to knock him out.

 

Agreed and I was wondering the same thing myself and for the same reasons.

 

I would not call Wilder a fraud, but he is there to be taken out.

Morrison wins here via TKO inside 4 rounds.

 

It hasn't really been proven in a pro ring.

And I was picking Stiverne to KO him.

 

I would. His record is the product of careful matchmaking, both in terms of his questionable chin not having been thoroughly exposed - although a couple of the tomato cans he's faced had him on the deck - and his fraudulent "KO power," which is more the product of the stiffs he's faced than anything else.

Wilder is another LaMar Clark, waiting to be exposed as the fake he is. Here is a pretty good article on how Wilder's pathetic record stacks up against other guys who've KOd a bunch of tomato cans, been overhyped, and then been exposed as the mediocrities they were:

You also need to consider that his record was padded with nearly 30 stiffs for almost 5 years before he anybody who had EVER been decent. And these guys - Harrison and Lyakhovich - were washed up fringe contenders. Then you had Malik Scott, a never was who basically laid down on cue.

There is a reason for all this chicanery - and it is found squarely in the fragile mandible that has been observed even against the pathetic opposition Wilder has faced.
