Except Wilder never in a million years would get sparked by Bentt. I hate to say it but Wilder is better than Cooney and Morrison.

Everyone is on this trip of Morrison "Can't take a punch".
How many punchers the caliber of Lewis, and Mercer
has Wilder faced? His ko loss to Bent was more
Morrison getting caught perfectly while trying to
land a ko punch. Wilder in that situation wouldn't
have had the skill to counter the way Bent did.
Light Punching Fury had Wilder staggering around like
a drunken sailor, on a small ship during a hurricane,
by the 3rd rd in fight 2, dropped him with a body punch
    with no leverage behind it.
Wilder is beyond overrated by some on this
    site.

We actually DO know that. Luis Ortiz despite his age hit like a truck and was highly feared for it at the time. He was hitting wilder with colossal left hooks that were rocking Wilder but he never lost his footing and went on to Win by KO. Bermaine Stiverne could hit too. Fury isn’t a huge puncher but he can crack and wilder took everything he had for many rounds while also giving it back. Morrison was KOd in one round by Michael Bentt. stopped in five by Mercer. Decked twice by an old Williams. I’m not favoring Tommy and I grew up watching that era

It’s important to note that when assessing Tommy Morrison, the Michael Bentt fight never really happened. It was all an illusion generated by Russian disinformation. Therefore when analyzing fantasy fights the Bentt fight can’t be used.

And he was old. Very old. Wilder is very much a hyped fighter who hasn’t proven much. And outside of Fury has been protected and carefully matched.

To me Wilders hype seems to have gone way up since the 3rd Fury fight, i mean i guess Wilder showed some toughness/bravery in a losing effort. But whats more alarmingly to me, is despite having Fury down 4 times in 2 fights. He could not stop Fury at any point, i tend to think a more skillful and clinical finisher, would of had Fury out of there in the same position, and also Wilders stamina which was non existent after only 5 or 6 rounds.

The durability of Wilder’s opponents against him doesn’t remotely resemble the durability those opponents against their other opponents.

It's probably also worth pointing out that Morrison lost on an invoked Three-KD-Rule and was on his feet when the bout was stopped.

Not saying he could have lasted the second half of the round; just that he wasn't knocked out cold, at the time of the stoppage.

Even the initial connect made by Bentt, which was as clean as they come, landing on a Morrison shifting onto the punch, wasn't enough on its own to put Morrison down.

Morrison could take a punch. He just didn't have the speed of recovery or the instincts to deal with the setback and ensuing onslaught.

What made tommy so tough was not his ability to take a punch , but his incredible arsenal, you could hold in your gloves to block his shots, so powerful they go right thru you, ungodley uppercuts in close.
