I think Norton has a chance but he better pull another Bobick trick and get Tommy out of there early. Neither man had a great chin but Morrison had more power to hurt Ken with than otherwise
TM stops KN in the early rounds...he was too fast hit too hard and started too fast for a fighter who could not move backwards
That could very well happen, especially if Norton tries to stay away and wait for Morrison to get tired. Norton had a good right uppercut and left hook and and the right hand that he looped. His best bet would be to go right with Tommy and let his hands go.
Think I’ll go with Norton as he was only bombed out in his prime by George Foreman. A H2H monster. Morrison was bombed out (in half the time no less) by Michael ****ing Bent.
Norton's defense is open for left hooks. That arm is way out of position to deflect anything. He simply has to hope the other guy's lefthook catches air. Don't see that happening here. Morrison had a lot of speed early in bouts with that hook of his. It sizzled. Even if he misses or catches Kenny not clean, I am certain it backs him up. And Norton will not do well backing up against this guy early. 3 round fight and a brutal ko.
I think Norton was good enough to not get clipped by Morrison and IMO that's the only chance Morrison has, he wasn't better offensively or defensively than Norton. And while Morrison is pressing, he was in danger of getting clipped himself. Tommy was not some kinda sturdy/stone chin bomber. He got clipped early just like Norton had been, and Norton at least got clipped by Foreman.............who did Tommy get iced by...............
That’s precisely my point. People are saying “well Norton is vulnerable to punchers lolz” while Morrison was immune to getting blown out. It didn’t take a Foreman or Shavers to blow out Morrison either. It was Michael ****ing Bentt.
It's definitely going to be a western with lots of bullets flying. Ultimately Ken has better jab, head movement, punch selection, combinations, body punching and so on. Morrison is a live and barking dog with his power though.
And per usual Norton's chin and ability to deal with harder punching opponents is being equalled to zero. He avenged the loss to Garcia from early on in his career with flying colors in a beautiful display of surgical body punching and inside game. Took some, dodged some, prevailed. The losses to Shavers and Cooney happened around the time of terrible performances against Ledoux and Cobb, clearly showing that Ken was past performing at elite level. He was considered old during the Stephen fight already, only managing to somehow turn the cloak back in the grudge match against Holmes. Losing to Venezuela Foreman is no shame. The man was on a mission and sure as hell knew how to deal with the crossguard. Norton is stylistically at disadvantage against the granite chinned, hard punching behemoths, but he has plenty of skills to exploit holes in their games as well, especially if they have breakable whiskers.
