Foreman himself said that. So you can believe what you want

Prime Ali in 6 or 7 rounds, he'd outclass a spirited Tommy, score a knockdown or several while largely having it all his own way imo. Just too much speed of hand and foot with a sharp dig.

Ali round 6 He’d break him down and take away his left hook with his footwork and feints and height and reach and Morrison wouldn’t be able to time his left hook and Morrison would be getting frustrated, he would be missing his left hook, his only advantage, whilst Ali would be taunting him whilst he is pummelling his face and breaking his will and if Morrison has better chin and stamina he may last longer or even go the distance, but he doesn’t

That's what I was thinking. Heck, the Ali of Shavers '77 could beat prime Morrison!

I appreciate that, but I put more faith in the film in this case. Morrison had a very good left hook, but never beat but a few decent fighters here and there. Frazier has a very good resume, and won most of his fights with the left hook. Tommy has a fine left hook I'll admit, and faster than Frazier's too.

I'd also pick the Shavers of '77 to beat Morrison, maybe not every time they met, but more often than not. The interesting question here would be what the latest version of Ali would be to beat Morrison. I'd probably pick the Shavers version, myself.

That was not the great Ali, but he could still take a lot great shots even then.

Ali is not Lewis but Morrison isn't Frazier!
Morrison while stronger and harder puncher with even better left wozld drop Ali in early rounds twice but after 5 rounds Morrison would be gassed and Ali would repeat what he did in Zaire and Morrison would just fall from exhaustion!
Ali didn't have power of Mercer but would wear Morrison down after 5 ala Foreman!

Ali stopped nearly every big puncher he fought (Liston, Williams, Shavers, Lyle, Foreman). And almost all of those big punchers were better than Morrison.
