Tommy Morrison vs. Ross Puritty '94

    I missed "Morrison-Puritty" back in 1994, but I just caught a replay for my collection last night........ Tommy Morrison was in good shape, as was Roscoe Puritty....

    In my book, Tommy Morrison was in control all the way through rds. 1 thru 5, but in rd. 6, he got careless and clocked by Puritty.... Morrison regrouped himself and carried onward, however, he was losing ground... And, once again, in rd. 10, Tommy Morrison hit the floor again from a barrage of blows by Ross Puritty.... After 10 rds., the bout was declared a draw...... This was a great fight on ESPN.....

    Dude I'd love to see the fight. Is Purity just that hard of a puncher that he just knocked Morrison down like that???

    purrity had/has an iron jaw. he wears fighters down with it.

    How old is Puritty these days??? I think he's done taking punches...... Roscoe Puritty was never a solid contender, but he deserves credit / respect for being in-shape and willing to fight.....

    Ross Puritty was a HELL OF A LOT more fun to see fight than the boring punching bag Everett "Bigfoot" Martin.....

    You're right, did Purrity ever get anything for getting a draw with Morrison?

    Seriously... I think Puritty got a large pizza from Domino's and a two-liter bottle of Pepsi from ESPN for his effort.... Maybe a room at Motel 6 was tossed in for good measure.?.?

    NOTE:

    That is what is sorry about ESPN, Versus, FSN, TNT & USA network.... Them networks ONLY take care of the star, and they toss the opponent / victim a few coins and a can of Ravioli......... Kinda' weak......

    perfectly scored a draw

    I had Morrison win 6 rounds to 4 HOWEVER Ross Puritty scored two knockdowns in two of the rounds he won making it an even score

    Puritty had Morrison ready to go in that last round...if there was another minute Puritty would have ko'ed Morrison

    Morrison later said that Puritty was the most physically strong opponent that he ever faced.
