Morrison may have said that Ross Puritty was his strongest opponent to date, however, I think Raymond Mercer may have something else to say about that prior to 1995................ "Ruddock & Lewis" in 1995 were in reality the BEST Morrison ever faced in the ring.......... MR.BILL NOTE: Michael Bentt just got lucky against a careless Morrison in 1993...
Morrison said that about Puritty in 2004.:good He never said that Puritty was the BEST that he ever faced. He said that Puritty was the strongest person that he ever faced. He said that Puritty was an "animal".
I never paid any attention to Roscoe Puritty before........ His record is deceiving.... BUT! Yes, he was a tough dude in the ring..... He fought some good fighters during his heyday in the ring.... However, Puritty normally lost.... His management and handlers must've sucked.... Had he been handled differently, his record may have sparkled more so than it did.... Who knows??? MR.BILL
Morrison was the more talented of the 2, he was a party animal and banging everything insight back in the hid 90's, Purrity was there to be KO'D but someone forgot to tell him that, i thought Ross should have got the nod, but Morrison got some good hometown cookin, and probaly a cool 12 pack, and a couple of skanks for his draw.. **** hard to believe it's been 15 years???
I got "Holy vs. Mercer" rolling right now. I'm sorry, but Holy looks fully juiced against Mercer in '95..... Mercer looks fit, but naturally trained; Holy looks fake..... MR.BILL
I never watched much of Ross Purity, but I believe its possible that he may have been a very strong and durable fighter. He was stopped on less than a handful of occasions in his career and one of them came late against Vitali Klitschko. He also knocked out some 27 of 31 victoms. My guess is that the large number of losses were probably attributed to unpolished fundamentals combined with poor managament and the tendency to take on tough fights on short notice. His chin and punching ability however should not be in question.
NO! I have these fights through hard work over the yrs watching for spots on Cable TV...... I can help with the making of tapes, but, it does cost a few bucks; nothing insane........ I just CAN'T do it for free these days...... BUT! YES!! I do have access....... Cheers.... MR.BILL
I also missed "Mercer - Wilson" back in 1994........ I think Mercer was a slob for that fight.?.? MR.BILL
So you could mail me some tapes? That'd be cool, give me some more details and I'll think about it, I have paypal so any pay transfering would be easy. I was just a little kid when you watched all these great fights.
