Peter was on the same level as Morrison despite the dubvious Ring ratings......whats his claim to fame, again, getting caved in against WK and going life and death with a former fat middleweight ? While he was strong as a ox he was also dumb as a ox in the ring and once WK softented him up he was knocked down or stopped at least as many times as Morrison. That is a genuine 50/50 fight. BTW, Lewis/Bowe/Tyson/Holyfield/Tua would have played ping pong with Peter.
i think morrison would beat them all and would beat fatt sam peter out / jameel mcline had peter wobbling all over the place .....
Morrisons victorys featured in the top 10 for near on ten years. Who did Peter beat ? Oleg? And he is a better win than Foreman is he? And you think Peter would have made the 1990's top 10 for 4 years running?:rofl If everybody could win fights like Tommy did against Foreman - they would. Its not easy to keep Foreman off you. When did you forget everything you knew about this sport:huh
Seamus dont like Bowe or Morrison, its obvious but its not causing me to have any sleepless nights, after all it all opinion.
By whom? Show me this. Name me another top heavy that Morrison could have used his suspect footwork and limited stamina against like he did against Foreman. George was simply too old to catch up to Tommy. It was a total one-off performance that Tommy never repeated, mostly because he could not find a foil as perfect as Foreman to do it against. I know, he would have had to moved guys like Frans Botha, Mike Hunter, Alex Zolkin, Akinwande and Lionel Butler out of his way. I loved the 90's in the heavy division but remember that guys like Botha and Shultz were players in that decade. There was plenty of room for someone like Peter. But it's not as hard to run away from a 44 year old Foreman.
Rudduck was ranked top 10 1989 and Foreman was in there till the mid 90's. Which is worse ? What you claim of Foreman or peak , prime youthful Peter being unable to catch up to Wlad. Peter had that fight in the palm of his hand. He lost it because he was one of the most dreadful movers ive ever seen in the division. Foreman cought up to many good movers and blasted them away. Without Tommy's fire power he would have been another victim. His brutal power shot combinations won him that fight and thats the bottom line. Tommy ran no more than Wilder against Stiverne , Ali against too many to mention. What Foreman and Mercer walked through against Duke was to much for most to handle. Those guys had two of the greatest chins in the sport. The Wlad left hook and the Helinus left hook that shattered Peter were not as frequent , not as fast and not as powerful as Morrisons. It would not be competitive. Go and watch them again. Theres a different level of class there and anybody can see it. I don't believe they were top tenners. And Peter wouldn't move past Akinwande. He wouldn't even get past Bruce Seldon. Seldon had a far greater skill level than Peter.
Ruddock was ranked in the top 10 6 years before Morrison beat him. Good. Glad we got that clear. And Wlad went on to dominate the division for a decade, barely losing a round in the process. And Foreman went on to go life and death with the likes of Axel Schulz and Lou Savarese. Sounds about the same to me.
Im not talking about Wlad here. Peter his his prime was shut completely out by guys worse than Morrison. Vitali came back old , after 4 years of inactivity and beat him every second of every round. Vitali was then taken through life and death against Chisora. Chisora proved he was better than Peter and nobody thinks Chisora would beat the Duke.
Vs Cooper is a 50/50 fight but the best Cooper like the one vs Holyfield or Mercer or even Moorer I think stops Tommy in a short explosive war. But if Tommy hurt him badly Cooper might pack it in. I'll still take Bert by early KO VS Sam Peter, hmmm tough one I'll go with Morrison by mid round TKO if Mccline can hurt Peter then my guess is Tommy can too, but Peter landing one is not out of the question. Vs Stiverne I'll take Tommy by KO3, Wilder had Stiverne out in round 2 I believe Tommy throws more crisp combos and will end him with a devastating barrage early. Vs McCALL McCall all day long, McCall has an iron chin a good enough punch and just as good a gas tank as Tommy, he either beats him up for the decision win or stops him late. I can't see a scenario where McCall would lose this fight..
