I love this new myth that Morrison was erratic, he was in fact consistent in the level of opponent he could beat...slow and washed up. I think he is a toss up against some of these guys more convincing wins...Oleg, Arreola, and even Seldom...Seldon did produce the better result against Hipp.

Tyson Fury would dismantle Peter without breaking a sweat.

Nobody would pick Fury to beat Morrison if I made that thread.

Only reason Peter gets picked is because he nearly knocked the over rated Klitschko out.

When Peter never had such success against all the other big names he fought , the sensible deduction is that the issue is with Wlad being poor rather then Peter being good.

With Tommy Morrison you never knew. He had the power to knockout anyone in the division. His chin was vulnerable enough to let him be knocked out by anyone. If you're being staggered by cruiserweight Yuri Vaulin, I wouldn't trust that chin against any heavyweight contender.

Mcall is probably the only guy who beats him for sure. The rest have punchers chances.

His power was overrated. Bert Cooper hit harder according to those who faced both either in fights or sparring. Witherspoon probably hit as hard. Lewis and Tua certainly hit harder.

If you have a punchers chance against Morrison you have a very good chance...you might as well be the favorite.

I like Tommy Morrison. He had tremendous heart, and even after brutal knockouts he never became gunshy like many fighters do become. He also possessed a very pretty offensive game, very fluid and textbook. However, he always had a porous defense, poor stamina and a below average chin. Most of his quality wins were against washed up name fighters who were trading wins and losses at the point in their career when Tommy faced them.
To me he's a mixed bag, on a good night he could defeat these guys on a bad night he gets beaten. I think it's very difficult to honestly believe he would Defeat all of these guys prime for prime. Who would win and who would lose is tough to say it could be any combination but I do believe Tommy would lose his share.

Tell me , against who did Morrison ever gas out against? To the point where he could not move nor throw a punch?
    What fight?

They said Tommy was getting tired from round 6 against Foreman yet he maintained a solid pace , decent work-rate and moved well right up to the final dong.

Nobody in the 90's had yet to come across Wladimir Klitschko. If he existed during that era , i guarantee you he would be known as being the worst conditioned HW of all time.

Because this era is held to a much lower standard he gets away with it.
I went back and rewatched Wlad vs Peter I again and the match is even a bigger embarrassment than I remembered.
Wlad is gassed out against a guy who is gassed out himself.
How is that even possible?. And to make it worse , he's gassed by throwing about 5 punches a round of about 2 mins of every round as a minute had gone, by the time both of them them got up, walked towards each other and HUGGED. An open target in front of Wlad and all he is able to do is wrap his arms around his head.

tHE Duke would never gas out against a guy who moved in slow motion like Peter. Both somehow , Wlad is hunched over , huffing and puffing , mouth wide open , unable to throw any shots and spent the night running, prancing away, cowering, hugging and grappling Peter like there was no tomorrow.
Wlad should have lost that fight through point deductions as Harlod Lederman pointed out.
I never seen such a pathetic excuse for a Champion.
Not only would Duke stop Peter but he'd also shatter the over-rated glass chinned , talent-less Clinchko as well.

Klitschko would have burst Tommy's chin like a lightbulb

But all of Morrison's good nights were against has_beens in bad shape...who still gave him scares on occassion, and an old Foreman he could hit and run against.

Morrison probably beats the Peter who fought Helenius, The McCall who rematched Lewis, The Cooper who quit against Sanders, those are ideal opponents for him to have one of his good nights against.

Outstanding work. Give yourself a pat.

Peter's best nights came against journeymen/ Never were's- like MacLine who took the fight on 10 days notice , weighed in at 270 pounds and very nearly knocked Peters put in 3 rounds and would have if he was in shape.

Who else did Peter beat. I'm drawing a blank..Unless beating Jameel McCline is worth more than a win over a top 10 HW ATG.
