Todays paper in Australia says he was signed on to fight Tyson for $40mil when he was diagnosed with HIV.

My question is this, if he now claims it was a mis-diagnosis, why hasnt he sued for this 40mil? He would get even more in my opinion.

    Anyone know?

Hmmmmmm.... The Duke was KO'd by Len Lewis on HBO in Oct. of '95.... As I recall, Tommy failed his prefight exam in Las Vegas in early 1996... T.M. was slated to fight, but the bout was called off after Tommy Morrison failed his test..... I cannot recall his proposed opponents name at the moment.... Tommy later went on to KO Marcus "I'm a Bum" Rhodes in Japan in late 1996 on the "Foreman-Grimsley" undercard.... Japan was aware as was Rhodes of Morrison's HIV condition..... That fight was a farce.....:patsch

I think Tommy Morrison getting a shot at Mike Tyson in 1996 was TOTALLY outta the question..... Tyson had is schedule full... Tyson fought "Bruno, Seldon & Holy" in 1996....

Tommy's best bet would've been to pass on Lennox Lewis in 1995 and go after Tyson at that point... Mike Tyson fought in Dec. of '95 against Buster Mathis, Jr. on national TV.... Tyson was looking real rusty, too.....:thumbsup

Their was immediate hype / rumors circulating about a proposed SUPERBOUT between "Morrison & Tyson" in the early Fall of 1995..... Morrison had just whacked out Razor Ruddock and Mike Tyson got his comeback win over Peter McNeeley, all on PPV for damn insane dollars.... However, Morrison had signed and was to fight Lenny Lewis in Oct. of 1995... Well, Lewis almost killed Morrison in October on HBO..... That right there kinda' ended the notion with Tommy Morrison...... A few scant months later, Morrison test + for HIV in Vegas..... All hell broke loose from that point on with Tommy Morrison.... Yet, he did fight Marcus Rhodes in Japan to finish out his career and 1996.....:hey

    EXTRA:

By 1997, Morrison was supposedly HIV and Tyson was a KO'd ex-champ once again..... Nuff said...

If the Tyson fight had happened Morrison would've been KO'd. The Lewis fight showed a fighter with a tall jab and a varety of punches could keep Morrison confused and unable to adapt.

Tommy Morrison could've sued, however, a judge with any sense, would simply toss-out that case...... Morrison and Tyson NEVER had a signed contract with a site confirmed........ A mutual agreement doesn't hold water in court, if either side opposes the other side..... In truth, Tommy and company had nothing.......

Tommy Morrison was NO PRIME (1987) Mike Tyson in 1995, but he was having a good run at the time and in his own prime years as a fighter...... The Mike Tyson of 1995 was NO sure bet to beat / KO Tommy Morrison in a fight...... Tyson's icing of Peter McNeeley didn't prove ****, however, his fight with Buster Mathis gave us a CLEAR idea just how rusty Tyson's tools had become..... Had Tommy Morrison skipped on Lennox Lewis in October and gone for Mike Tyson in December of 1995, who knows how that fight would've turned out.?.? I'm not sold that Tyson was ready for a Tommy Morrison in 1995.......... Cheers........

Morrison was never in Tyson's class, at any respective stage of their careers. Even 95 Tyson would not have have the life and death struggles with Joe Hipp, Ross Purity, and shot Carl Williams.

Morrison was a steroid abusing tough man, nothing more.

Disagree................. Tyson looked ordinary in '95 against the slobbish Buster Mathis, Jr..... Come 1996, both Bruno and Seldon were scared shitless and froze, but that was NOT the case for Evander Holyfield.... Between 1992 thru 2000, Tyson ONLY fought ONE real fighter---Evander Holyfield....... Yet, I do give Tyson credit for coming back to KO Frans Botha in 1999 and Andy Golota in 2000........ Orlin Norris, Julius Francis & Louis Savarese were fodder for Mike Tyson........ As was the pig in 2001 named Brian Nielsen..... All pigs and slobs, etc....... :patsch:hi::bart
