I watched one of them fight awhile ago and thought he should’ve been fighting at cruiserweight and I also thought he was limited and someone like chisora would walk through him in a few rounds
Well, what do you mean by "go big"? Both have been competing against utterly useless opposition and are both 30 years old. They're hardly going to "go big" in professional boxing.
Not as Dubois but however both are unbeaten and one of them Trey Lippe has a score of 16W (16 KO) and 0 losses.
Trey definitely has power but his career has really slowed down in recent years due to injuries. There was a slim chance he might have been able to reach contender status with the right training and matchmaking but now it's next to impossible.
If Tre Lippe worked real hard, he could be a gatekeeper. James Macenzie will be a journeyman as soon as he starts taking bigger fights. Likely they will both continue to fight once or twice every one or two years until brutally knocked out, and then quit. Hopefully, they will go the Monk Foreman route and just quietly step out of the picture.
Trey was doing ok before his career bogged down with injuries. If he is still with Freddie Roach he might be able to be a decent fighter one day.
Exactly. They are both second or third tier operators, at best. Trey is a little better than MacKenzie, but neither was ever a threat to eclipse their father's achievements.
Trey showed some promice years ago. But nothing happened. He didn't step up in competition nor fight on a bigger platform. He just sits in limbo. And as the years tick away, age will catch up with him.
I actually quite like the way Monk's career went. He got a taste of the pro ring and likely realized that it just wasn't for him. I wish Chavez Jr. had as much grace.
