I mean he admitted himself he used Steroids in his career. Now it has also been revealed that he actually knew he was HIV positive since 1989 but still not only continued boxing but also sleeping around with so many women.

I don't buy for a second that his closest friends and advisors were completely oblivious to all this. Someone should seriously file lawsuits against all these people.

I personally felt he was a talented fighter, the white Tyson and he had heart which he showed many times when fighting with broken hands, with a broken jaw, getting knocked down but getting back up and continuing fighting but his biggest drawback was his girly chin.

But was the guy actually even good in the first place if he was indeed taking steroids? Would he have been that powerful, fast and explosive without the steroids?

    @UFC2015 grow up.
Morrison hiding HIV for years and endangering women, sparring partners and opponents is a much bigger issue than him doping. What do you think the rest were doing? Just working weaally hard and hoping they had enough talent to make it to the top? Nope, with that much money on the line you'd have to be stupid not to try and get any possible edge on your competition and naive to believe your competition isn't doing the same.
But hiding HIV for years as a fighter and a man banging countless women is irresponsible bordering on criminal, definitely despicable

His legacy on the sport is being Exhibit A for why more thorough bloodwork and drug testing needed to be introduced.

I've read interviews that he used steroids mainly for muscle mass so he could fight as a heavyweight, and if he didn't use them he would have fought at cruiserweight.

Steroids are used for strength, there are no speed or explosive steroids.

So without steroids, he wouldn't be as big and as strong, meaning his punching power would be weaker and his chin also.

Larry holmes had a small and weak frame for a heavyweight, and a small head- but a great chin, didn't use steroids and would still school and beat all these roid monsters post '90

There is some doubt Morrison even had HIV. He took tests in 2007 that concluded he was negative for HIV thus rendering the 1996 tests false positives.

Morrison was a pretty good fighter. He could brawl and box against certain opponents which is not common to see. However his chin and stamina fails in match ups against top quality opponents.

Idk why y'all are doggin on Morrison. The man gave tons of money to charity and didn't even ask to be recognized for it or flaunt it. He was simply a good person who got too involved with the high life.

Where did you hear that he knew he was hiv positive from 89? I always thought he was blind sided right before his bout with Arthur Weathers

    What legacy?

He was just another 90s near man.

He was good but he was far from an ATG. The only linear heavyweights champsI. I can see him beating are Leon Spinks a 45 year old Foreman and possibly Michael Moorer.

The chance of a false positive is 1/250,000. The chance of giving false positives on multiple occasions and dying of an AIDS related illness without having AIDS is nonexistent. I wonder what he did in 2007 to get himself into the ring. It was no coincidence that his next and last fight was in some obscure part of Mexico.

He says he got it from doing steroids with dirty needles.

He was diagnosed officially in 1996, if he truly believed he didn't have HIV why didn't he officially aggressively get himself tested from all corners asap. Why did it take him till 2007? Plus the manner in which he died in which his family admitted he had full blown aids in his final moments.

There is no doubt in my mind that he indeed had HIV. His conduct and overall attitude reeks of a man who tried every trick in the book to cheat the system and get away with it. The real question is did he actually get diagnosed with the disease in 1989, how many people knew, how the hell did he get away with it for so long, which doctor or medical clinic did he or his team collude with? So many lawsuits that deserve merit.

Any type of PED cheating should automatically be a de-merit to your sports record. The guy was so dumb that he clutched at straws to get back in the ring.

The steroids didn't help his chin, he would have been toast against the big punchers. His biggest USP was his punching power, if the steroids helped inflate it then it automatically does raise questions whether he was really that good to begin with and would he have even got the 48 wins that he did without it, i doubt it.
