He said that he plans on winning the '08 Olympics in Freestyle wrestling, and then he is retiring from the sport. He is a huge fan of MMA, and plans on moving into the sport directly afterwards. Also, he is the one who trained Frank Mir to beat Lesnar, as Frank called him personally to come help him.

This is going to be great. Rowlands is a BEAST! I wrestled with him in High School, back when he used to watch my matches, and ask me questions about moves when I came off of the mat. He was a year behind me, and just blew up in between in Freshman and Sophomore years. Ended up being state Champ his Junior and Senior years... 4 Time Division I All American at OSU, 2x NCAA Champion. Then he moved into Freestyle & Greco competitions. He now has a list of accomplishments in that as well including (last year alone) the 2007 US Nationals Freestyle Champion, 2007 US World Team Trials Champion, 2007 Pan Am Games Silver Medal, Swiss Grand Prix Champion, ect... and a LONG list of accomplishments before this.

I think that this will be the first time that a wrestler of this level has entered MMA during his prime. Of course, we don't know how well he will be in other areas, but he is an amazing athlete. When talking about MMA, he talks a lot about JJ, and Muay Thai as well, so I figure that he has some training in those areas.
