I would favor wilder to stop Morrison early. Tommy might rock him a few times along the way

The more I think about this fight the more I favor Tommy. The far more skilled Mercer took some time and had to eat a lot of powerful shots and combinations before landing on Tommy. Can wilder take that kind of punishment from Tommy? I don’t think so. Tommy avoided Foreman’s power for 12 rounds and I also can’t see Wilder taking the punches Foreman took. Wilder was bounced around the canvas by someone who isn’t even a power puncher, so I’d give someone with elite power and offensive skill like Tommy, to take wilder out of there early. Morrison’s a little bit underrated on this forum

Wilder is a half a foot taller than Ray Mercer and fights from the outside, closes the gap quickly when he punches, then backs out again.

Ray Mercer always tried to get in close and work.

I don't see it being the same fight at all. I liked Morrison when he was fighting. He was exciting. But this just seems like a wipeout.

Plus, Morrison will be gasping for air by the third round. Wilder could still wipe out people late in fights. Stamina isn't a problem for him.

Just seems like a bad style matchup for Morrison all around.

Well if bums like Dustin Nichols, Sconiers, and Molina could land on wilder, I bet Morrison could

    He knocked them all out.

You really want to do this with Morrison? Well, if Michael Bentt could knock Morrison out in one round ... well, if Ross Puritty could drop him twice, and get robbed ... want to keep going? Well, if Joe Hipp can break his jaw and have him near death ... want to keep going?

Well, if Morrison needs PEDs and breast implants and a commission with no drug testing in a failed attempt to look intimidating in beating John Castle when, at the same age, Wilder is wasting Luis Ortiz in his 10th WBC Heavyweight title defense ... want to keep going?

It is always funny to me when the Morrison v Foreman fight is held up as some exhibition of masterful boxing by Tommy. Periodically, just to check my memory, I'll watch a round or two and it is still the same; a guy that spent too much time in the weight room and tanning beds wheezing his way around the ring, running from a guy that his fans say was great at cutting off the ring, but had apparently forgotten how.
Against Wilder, that would be the absolute worst strategy for Morrison to apply. He would allow Wilder to take his time, pick his spots and line up his money shot, his right hand.
Morrison's best shot would be to come out fast, and press the fight. Cut the ring and get low to make Wilder shorten his arms by punching down, look for a right hand over the top, work the body to set up a hook.
Wilder starts slow, or takes his time, depending on how you look at it. Morrison starts fast and burns out fast. Tommy has a window of maybe 9-12 minutes, tops, to win the fight.

No I don’t want to keep going, especially not with Morrison. I just really dislike Wilder.

Either man could win but I'd favor Wilder. Morrison is overrated and wilder is underrated, mostly due to how unlikeable he is.

    This is the correct answer.

Wilder lacks fundamentals, but he does have a nuclear right hand.

Tommy on the other hand can use a variety of punches and he actually has some defensive ability. He's also the better boxer and the more accurate puncher. Wilder may be able to land harder, but the odds are that Morrison lands first, and when he does it will be the beginning of a short end for Wilder.

Lol at the people using the Morrison Foreman fight as a blueprint. Wilder feeds of fear. He is no 35 year old Foreman, he will catch Morrison. Also those who question his chin are doing a disservice, Fury with his 275 lb frame and bossing could not ko him, Luiz Ortiz failed to ko him, what makes you think Morrison could do it with ease?
