It's not debatable. In 22 years, nobody's debated the win.

Moorer's signature win was against Holyfield.

Also, watch the Mesi fight if you think Jirov couldn't punch at heavyweight.

I'm not sure why you singled those wins out. Schultz was a better win than Jirov and Cooper and Stewart could definitely crack.

Razor absolutely argued about the stoppage. He was 50/50 still to stop Morrison.

Nah actually it doesnt. My username has nothing to do with Morrison.

Combine moorers shaky chin, sh!t defense, and yeah morrison could end him with a single shot.

    Morrison had single shot power.

Let's put it this way... In the Ring's Annual Heavyweight Rankings from 1991 thru 1996, Moorer was ranked all 6 years, almost all in the top 4. Tommy was ranked but TWICE, both times at NUMBER 9... Moorer was a major player in the division. Tommy was a footnote.

Were the writers of Ring so deluded or ignorant as not to appreciate the greatness of Tommy Morrison that today's keyboard warriors have given him?

Nobody's debating their ratings buddy. but styles make fights. Fact is this is a winnable fight for Morrison. as it is for Moorer also. Not the 1 sided blow out that you make it out to be. Morrison's big punch, combos and explosiveness could potentially spell trouble for Moorer's glass jaw.

I'm not completely counting out Tommy based on those factors but I will side with the guy who was the far better overall fighter.

Having been a rabid boxing fanatic in those day, pre-internet, into the Fightnews and Ring scenes, contributed a few things to both... Tommy was considered something of a joke, a total bust after the Bentt fight. Even the Foreman victory was snickered at because he used a tactic that wouldn't have worked against any other viable heavyweight, basically turning his back and running... For all his power, Tommy usually set up his left hook from another zip code. He was extremely predictable and wooden in his attack. A Kronk product like Moorer would have almost assuredly landed first.

Maybe retrospection should be kinder to the man... I just don't see it.

Great fight, could go either way. For some reason I just see Moorer's jab getting through a lot, messing up Tommy's face. I'm gonna say that the Tua loss was a different case, in that Moorer was old and had lost all confidence by then, and that Tue was just overall more dangerous than Morrison.

Having said this, Morrison could very well land first and end it early. It's a great match-up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Morrison ended up just like Moorer against Tua.

If Moorer's chin doesn't let him down he wins by decision or maybe even late round TKO. If Morrison moves his head while coming in to throw punches he might stop Moorer inside of 6 rounds.

    Tough call.

I see your point, but this is both men at their best. Morrison at his best was very good... so was Moorer. Moorer was better overall, but we are talking about just one night here.

Moorer barely beat a far from 100% Holyfield in '94... MD12. He was stopped in the 10th by Foreman in his next fight. Foreman had already lost a decision to Morrison.

Morrison crushed past prime versions of James Tillis KO1 and Pinklon Thomas KO1. He also beat Wimpy Halstead KO5, Joe Hipp KO9, Carl "The Truth" Williams KO9, George Foreman W12, and Razor Ruddock K06 among others. He went 48-3-1 (42) overall and 2-2 (1) in WBO HW world title fights. He went 1-1 (1) in IBC HW world title fights.

Moorer moved up to HW after going 10-0 (10) in LHW WBO world title fights. At HW he beat Alex Stewart KO4, Bert Cooper KO5, Bonecrusher Smith W10, Evander Holyfield, Axel Schuz WSD12, Frans Botha KO11, Vaughan Bean WMD12.

Moorer had the speed factor now :huh
Moorer's lack of speed is what gets him laid out vs Tommy. He was a plodder and his punch is overrated at HW.

He put everything he had into Mevlin Foster who didn't go anywhere.

Tommy's hands and feet were way to fast for Moorer. And his punch too brutal.

Just look at the second Holyfield. Moorer was going down left and right from left hooks and right uppercuts. Dukes best shots and more powerful than Evanders.
