You need a drink... So whats Moorers high lights at Heavyweight, Botha, Holyfield and then getting one punch ko'ed by the old man for his first defense...them gets bounced around re match time like a ping pong by light punching Holyfield ? A case can be made that he actually lost the first Holy fight...very. very close. Morrison was the banger who blew hot and cold while fighting literally everybody while politics allowed it......Moorer was the guy with the shaky chin who needed a screaming Atlas for psycho shrink talk between rounds
Exactly. Moorer was 35 years old and had taken 3 years off between 1997 and to 2000. Anyone who even bothers referencing that fight has an agenda to say the least.
Again, what has Tommy done in the past 18 or so years to deserve the lofty ranking he never had when he was an active fighter?
The other thing to factor in is that Morrison inspite of his weak chin, every time he got hit, he would still get back up to fight on thus proving his heart. Moorer on both occasions has been laid flat.
That shot from Foreman was one of the weirdest KO's I've ever seen. It looked like it was coming in slow motion and it didn't look especially powerful, yet Moore went down like he was shot. Just goes to show you how much power Foreman actually had.
Moorer fought against Botha with dislocated jab and broken rib. He got up twice from Bert Cooper's bombs (the Cooper who more than a couple folks said was the hardest hitter of the era) and stopped him. There was a time in his career when he displayed heart.
I really don't understand the need to create a myth for Morrison of all people. Who gains from this..
What ****ing politics held back Morrison, he was hand fed washed up Tyson opponents, starred in a Rocky movie, billed him as John Wayne's lineage,...they tried everything they could to make this dope a star. Who was duking the Duke?
Most people picked Sultan Iggy and other lesser guys to beat Morrison in fantasy threads. He gets underrated here if anything.
