The difference between Loughran and Hill is like the difference in quality between porcelain and ceramics.

If Virgil can make it to the end I’d say him on points. Has the better and faster jab imo

I see a very good, smart, tough fighter who benefited from having a tactical approach that was ahead of its time. But I also see a guy with no punching power and had no right hand worth mentioning. And I think his low-guard, high-chin defensive tactics could cause him problems against tactically and technically sound fighters with the size and speed to reach him with straight punches.

So how would you see him against more modern LHWs?

He'd probably win some and lose some.

Random question, but what are your thoughts on Chad Dawson? I like him, oozes talent but squandered it. Personally, I think he's a ballache for most LHWs, but not tough enough to be among the best.

My pick for the best LHW of the 2000s.

For some reason, I was actually never completely sold on Chad. He looked great against Adamek but I think Pascal exposed him. I picked Glen Johnson and Ward to beat him (didn't know he'd have such a hard time making weight or that Ward would wipe him out like that though). He probably could have had a much better career. He bounced around between a lot of different trainers and there were always rumors about him being "difficult" and not fully committed to the sport.

I think he probably had the skills, style, and physical traits to give Loughran some problems though.
