This contest - with the interim super bantamweight WBC title on the line - is airing on the Japanese channel "AbemaTV Special2" in about 12.5 hours from now at Korakuen Hall, per the Abema website and Twitter account. What confuses me is whether 5pm local time (3am EST) is the main event start time or whether some or all of the undercard will be shown, which could put Kameda vs. Medina ring walks as late as 7pm JST (5am EST)...and none of the promotional materials from Abema or the WBC (nor translations of the former's broadcast guide on their website) have given me any indication of which is the case. This is a VERY important distinction. Staying up late to watch the main event and going to bed at 4am is one thing, whereas turning in early and setting my alarm to wake up at 4:45am in time for the main event is another. I need to know which I'm doing. I have zero need to watch the whole card and will be equally pissed off to either a) find out at 3am when it goes live that we have two hours of junk domestic undercard in store or b) to risk oversleeping and missing it.
So I'm going to make a tentative educated guess of ~6am EST for main event ring walks (but don't quote me on that)
Glad I thought it over and switched to Kameda at MD last minute, although as I expected Medina had a solid second half, granted all I saw was the second half, I momentarily passed out and slept through the first half.
