Here are the purses for the all-junior bantamweight tripleheader on Saturday night. According to the California State Athletic Commission: Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez $600,000, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai $170,000. Naoya Inoue $182,500, Antonio Nieves $35,000. Carlos Cuadras $62,500, Juan Francisco Estrada $65,000. Nice purse for Gonzales. I wish world class flys like cuadras and Estrada can get at least 6 figures though.
Gonzalez beat him clear fight 1, going to walk right through him this time, total mismatch without fighting through the gashes and broken nose. All caused by the Asians noggin
I always feel for the lower weights, it's really is unfair the difference in purses with the bigger men sometimes. But Roman's purse looks decent, SSR's purse is rather poor considering he won the first fight.
I agree, fighters under featherweight are generally underpaid as most plough their career outside of US. Gonzales is certainly an exception, co main event for several years with GGG certainly help a lot. Rungvisai got around $75 grand for the first fight so at least he got more than double this time. By comparison longtime Thai champ Pongsalek Wongjomkam highest purse is around $300000. So Rungvisai can generate that kind of earning if he can duplicate his win over Roman.
Damn, you know I just spent a couple minutes looking for those. Eventually, I found them on ESPN care of Dan Rafael. Should have just scrolled down. It's a crime how little these warriors are paid, considering both their p4p and entertainment ability. We're getting them all for just a little bit more than Adrien Broner got to fight Mikey Garcia. Hypothetically, the show probably only needs about half a million viewers to make money. HBO should just put on shows like this all the time. Although, I suppose it was a little tricky getting six promoters to work together instead of just the usual one or two.
the payouts for these guys are a disgrace... McGregor gets 30mil for that joke of a fight.. and only 1 of these 6 can get 500k? smh...
That's a ****ing disgrace how the hell is Rungvisai only getting 170k to Gonzalez 600k, he won that first fight !
Gonzalez won the first fight, I think he will win the rematch, but I wish the referee would stop all the headbutting.....................they do not get paid enough at all.........................
I figure Cuadras and Estrada are getting some Mexican TV money. They are likely all getting a cut from the their respective homelands.
Wow... For the slight inconvenience of getting knocked out, Nieves MIGHT be able to afford a North Face after paying taxes and his team...
