Tomoya Tsuboi born March 25, 1996 is a 5'3 Super Flyweight/Bantamweight with a 3-0 2 KO's record. He was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan and fighting out of Tokyo, Japan. While waiting a little longer to turn pro than some of his contemporaries, now that he has, Tsuboi ain't wasting any time. Already 3 fights into his pro career, he's outperformed Bam Rodriguez in stopping Carlos Cuadras for the second time in his career and retiring him. Now one might say, but Cuadras was shot! Sure, somewhat, but Cuadras has been on a winning streak since losing a UD for Bam back in 2022, and even beat Pedro Guevara coming off of his win over Andrew Moloney. Cuadras showed up fully ready to give it a go, and he tried his damnedest, but was shut down in and demonstratively every step of the way. He looked a little slower than usual, but he was still letting the combination fly. All the while, Tsuboi completely nonplussed by the moment, like the methodical clinician that he is, and dismantled Cuadras in shockingly easy fashion. He looked like a genuine killer in there, unfazed by every trick Cuadras threw at him. Kept battering his face in with the jab, lit him up with clean effective combinations, and put his foot on the gas and stopped him when he wanted. It was like a Sunday stroll in the park. He had a decent career as an amateur, winning gold at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships and bronze at both the Asian Games and Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in 2022. He turned pro with Teiken and fights out of their gym. He's smooth, fast, slick as hell, has a beautiful thudding jab, excellent almost sociopathic temperament, and is a machine in there. He's going to be a problem, and quite frankly I think he could beat Bam already. He calls himself The Trickster, but he's more like The Magician.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

He looks good but old to start at flyweight. Anyone know why he started so late?

Apparently he was really into being an amateur, and wanted to make sure he'd accomplished all of his goals there first.

Yeah he looks fantastic and you can see that's a quality opponent, not a walkover. Japan to the rescue of boxing!

I am a fan now. Thanks for pointing him out!

That boy can bloody fight. Love the way he made Cuadras fall just short with jabs then came back by stepping in with his own and pivoting out. Very slick, very satisfying.
