I don't mind him having a soft fight every now and then. Every boxer gets that privilege.

The next one needs to be a ripper though.

He deserves a break after fighting O'Neil Bell, Steve Cunningham and Jonathon Banks. But he did fight Gary Gomez in between.

It's all well and good him having a soft fight once in a while, but not that soft!

Sometimes I see boxers take on extra-soft opponents, and I wonder... maybe they are doing it because they are sick of shitty contract negotiations with prima donnas.
Like Adamek with Hopkins. He is just getting insulted there.

So he looks around and sees Gunn, and offers him a fight. Gunn is so grateful that there is absolutely no arguing about anything, the fight just gets made.

It's kinda like ****ing a girl who isn't as good looking as the ones you usually ****. She is so grateful that she will do anything you want. No games, no nothing, just in the sack and on with it.

I don't see the benefit, it's not like he's going to be learning anything new. I know Hopkins low-balled him with that $500,000 offer but I think they should of called his bluff and accepted it.

Eh Gomez was a stay busy get on ESPN type of fight.Gunn is his softest touch as far as Championships go.

I don't see the benefit either. It isn't going to improve him as a boxer. He won't get a big payday out of it. It can't help his reputation or legacy.

I'm guessing the benefit lies in something a bit more on a tangent. Such as keeping busy, or any fight being a good fight (any publicity being good publicity), smaller paychecks are ok while waiting for the bigger ones. Or maybe there is something between promoters.

So long as his next one is decent, I won't think to much about it. If he starts picking more soft fights I'll be really disappointed, cause he doesn't seem like that kind of guy.

This is partly Hopkins fault. He is a big mouth but he knew he'd get KTFO against Adamek. So if noone is going to fight him, have an easier fight and then follow soon after with a bigger fight. The guy has ALWAYS fought the best.

yeah bobby will never complain about money a shot at a title....he gavwe it a go against macca but was clearly outclassed. adamek might take him a few rounds then take him out shake hands with his man and good luck on your career. then off air.

a stay busy fight with a guy who can fight for a world title.

gunn hasnt done too badly after his bloodyness again enzo

    He deserves a soft spot.
He fought Bell,Cunningham,Banks and a toon-up in less than a year.

There is NO excuse for fighting a fighter that bad in a title fight. None! At all!

While he's well deserving of a tune up (WELL deserving), let's not make Johnathan Banks out to be a tough opponent. He turned out to be better than expected of course but he's still a decent C note fighter. Nothing more nothing less.

Hopefully Adamek cleans Gunn out relatively quickly and we move on to bigger and better things for him.
