Adamek said, that better is fighting with 'weaker' opponent than non-fighting. Adamek as a champion gained my admiration and applause. First he fought tough Banks only 78 (or sth like that, not sure) days after very hard fight vs Cunningham. Immediately after win over Banks he started to search following opponent. He didnt has luck (financial crisis - no money for rising stars like Adamek). So Adamek must be patient and keep his boxing shape, fighting even with Gunn. His time will come, big fights will come.
we dont mind him fightign a weak opponant it's how that he is the best fighter at cruiser and loking for big names.....and for some reason gunn is the person that is chosen.
There was not enough TV money for Adamek fighting RJJ or BH. What's more, top 10 cruisers have their fights scheduled or were fighting recently (Wlodarczyk - Fragomeni). That is why Gunn was chosen. Among 'weaker' boxers only fight with Gunn can provide enough money to make this fight profitable for Adamek.
He didnt choose Gunn he was kind of stuck with him.BHOP,Johnson and RJJ fell through so he was supposed to fight Matt Godfrey who also pulled out.
The guy I feel for is Troy Ross. He does his thing, looks good on the Contender and has a high-profile champ in need of an opponent and it doesn't happen. Sometimes, I'm guessing, it doesn't pay to be a southpaw. In a "nothing" fight, Adamek went as close to nothing as he could get.
