I personally believe that Toney is shot, but if he insists on fighting, this is a decent starting point (for him anyway). He should take this as a point to start on, after this fight, he should not let himself go, he should get right back to training so that his next fight, he loses even more weight. I doubt he will do that, but that;s what he should do.

he's shot so it's too late, if only he got himself in shape 4-5 years ago, like he was for the Holyfield fight, he would've beat up all heavyweights including the Klitschkos.

Who knows, lets see his next fight to judge whether he is shot or not.

If Toney is in shape this is his last chance to make a statement in the heavyweight division (being as weak as it is), his old school style and skills will only take him so far if his body is unable (at age 41), i see Toney only having 2-3 fights left maximum before he is completely useless

I don't think so. If he relied on speed or reflexes I would, but Toney relies on being slick more than anything. If he's in shape, his speed will be enough to connect. Sure it's not the Toney who ****ed up Holyfield, but he can compensate with technique.

Woah... I'm impressed. Sure there aren't any abs, but the man is a middleweight. He looks much thinner, slurs less, and basically gives a more healthy impression. I predict that he does well, his age is not a big issue as he does not rely on physical attributes, a possible exception being his chin. If he did he would not be at heavyweight.

He looks like an overgrown Howard from the Halifax adverts with the glasses on.

    Who gives you extra?

I agree, Toney has all the attributes to still be competitive at a higher age, old school just like Charles, Walcott and Moore.

He has lost some of his speed but he will still be up there. Vitali is old and slow too.

This isn't a surprise to me. There have been rumours about Toney being dedicated and serious again for a long time. I always said that Toneys perfect weight at HW would be 215lbs, he's nearly reached that now. I also think 205-210lbs would maybe be too light. He was 217lbs against Holyfield, he looks exactly the same now, and he was fantastic in that bout, but we shouldn't forget physique isn't everything - Toney is six years older now than he was back then against Holyfield. It may very well be too late for Toney now, but since he'll continue fighting we'll see soon enough how much he has left. I have a feeling there's another big fight waiting for Toney down the road, maybe even a title-shot.

The only thing that really makes me sad is that he didn't motivate himself and came in in this shape against Rahman three years ago, when he got that shot at the WBC belt. He certainly had a better chance to change the HW division back then than he has now.
