I doubt Toney will get next title shot ever, maybe if he beat a good contender.
But if he fight for the title now who would be the best choice: Wlad, Vitaly, or Valuev?

He should beat Thompson and a title shot won't be far.

I get the feeling he'll actually try to aim at Vitali.

If so, move #1 is to get a front-row ringside ticket for Wlad-Rahman. Especially try to get close to Vitali. Heckle Wlad throughout and yell at Vitali. Try to get Vitali riled up, he tends to anger a lot quicker than his brother and Toney blabbering away to wind him up would give him a good chance as getting picked as a voluntary.

Vitali would have to face Gomez next, no questions, so move #2 is to get a front-row ringside ticket for Vitali-Gomez next and heckle Vitali throughout again.

Flapping his gums is probably his best shot. In the meantime, keep his hand in by beating Thompson, of course. If he loses to Thompson then it's a moot point anyway.

Toney's best chance at a title is if, God forbid, both Klitschko brothers die in some sort of plane crash and Rahman is awarded Wlad's interim titles as a result.

You never know, if Toney was in 1/2 decent shape... -230., he might be able to outpoint the slow moving giant. Chagaev did it...

(So did Larry Donald and John Ruiz, for that matter)
So, James has a chance to pick up a belt there... But not vs either Klit bro.

It was 118-110 I think. But yes very worrying from Toney's point of view.He would get hammered by every one of the title holders.

SIDENOTE: Rahman has always been a stiff! Never before has one man done so much with so little.

James Toney has no chance of beating any of the current beltholders. End of discussion.

That was more of what James Toney didn't do rather than what Sam Peter did.

Toney's best chance is against Valuev. He is one of the weakest title holders in Heavyweight history, but his size compensates a little.

I would love to see Toney win a world title again, but it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I hear him saying how he'll school everybody. He stepped up against Peter, who was recently dominated by a rusty Vitali Klitscho, was beaten, but he still insist's he's the best? Nope.

The size difference in this case may work against Valuev who should have to either punch only at the level of his hips so no power punches would be in the work or would have to lower his knee which would make him out off balance ...

So Toney might either easily box him inside or even knock him out (balance vise).
