I hear you, and since you sound so committed to your view I am probably wasting my time...but anyways. Toney won the WBA title in the ring, by schooling Ruiz...who ValueLESS needed paid officials to beat. Toney fought for the WBC Title against Rahman, in which Rahman was allowed to throw well over 100 unchecked kidney punches, which probably had Toney spitting up blood when he got back to the locker room. If the ref would have prevented Hasim from doing this, and enforced the rules...like they did when WLAd fought Rahman ( the ref forced every break, because Rock has a vicious body attack in the clinch, so they passed on "jab & grab" for this fight), James surely would have won...and Rock didn't even protest the draw. If Toney had a fair fight, he would have won the WBC Title as well. James performs well enough to not lose in the ring in HW Title matches...and his ATG status in the other divisions is concrete. He will be considered the only ATG WLAD has fought, if it comes off.
I wouldnt pick toney to beat either Klitschko, but he is still one of the more interesting heavyweights.
Batchelder tested postitive for two banned substances...I mean WTF, James needed roids to beat him...??? Batchelder was a fair fight.
Fraud alien Valueless shouldn't even be in any discussion as he belongs in the zoo rather than a boxing ring. Toney didn't beat Ruiz, the fight was a NC and Toney is still just another heavyweight who didn't win any title yet. You can disagree all you want there but he was tested positive and the result is a NC, just like his fight with Batchelor and Rahman. That's a new one, but sure. Still we have to look at the result, it was a draw. I thought Rahman won the fight but that doesn't matter, the result was a draw and that's the end of it. Toney still failed to do anything there and came in horrible shape for that fight. I don't consider him an ATG at heavyweight as he failed to show it and his resume is the proof regardless of all the excuses surrounding it. If Wladimir does fight him and knock him out cold, which I think he will, then you will just say he beat an old washed up ATG which is truly the case so we know very well where this will go. A fight with Arreola and Povetkin is FAR better, especially Povetkin.
"Both fighters have tested positive for steroids after the fight and have been suspended for one year as of 5/22/07 by the California State Athletic Commission." This is an ATG that needed roids for a guy like Batchelor.
Ruiz wins with corruption nearly every time, and those all count...but Toney taking a banned substance for an injury, doesn't. I'm not worried about the BS decision. Toney kicked his ass, and they took it away from him. Ruiz cheats IN THE RING, for every fight, and gets to keep his wins...???...sorry, I'm not on board there. Just like HOLY beat ValueLESS, the decision means **** all. He fought for the HW Title, and was not the loser...most times a draw for the title warrants a rematch, but Hasim ran into the man who has his number. Toney has faced two HW World Title holders, and NEITHER beat him...regardless if he got the belt, nobody says he lost in the ring...or lost at all. If he was such a HW failure, surely one of the two current World champs he faced should have been able to get a W against him... I consider him past his prime, that doesn't mean he's washed up...Holyfield is another ATG WAY past his prime, and he's shown he's not completely washed up recently. :-((...more green pro HWs, if WLAD wants to keep f*ckin' himself and his "legacy," so be it....but beating a green Peter meant little, beating Povetkin and Arreola with their limited number of Pro fights just shows that he is in a hurry to get to the up & commers before they reach their potential...and that's how it would go. WLAd wins, and they never realize their potential.
No ****, both fighters...he didn't need roids for batchelder, if they both showed up clean the results would have been the same...it was a wash.
Toney's attempt to get an undeserved big payday is a bit shallow and rediculous, at this point. But, he's merely trying to sell himself/make money while he still can. But his challenge is not much more of an attention getter than me challenging Wlad. But I agree, it'd be a better fight for Wlad than Arreola, as Arreola is a waste of time, if you ask me..
If Toney does not need Anabolic Steroids then WHY does he keep using them? He has been caught twice now. Toney wasted his potential at Heavyweight by: #1 becoming a fat slob and lazy #2 fighting meaningless fights His record at Heavyweight is abysmal. I am not hating on him it is just how it is. He could have actually done something at Heavyweight but he squandered it all because of my two poins above.
Holy vs Valueless was a robbery, Toney vs Ruiz wasn't a robbery, Toney was caught for using illegal performance enhancing substances. Injury or not, he could have postponed the fight. Why didn't Toney look anything like he did against Ruiz in fights after that?, the roids should be your answer. The fight was a NC and Toney is NOT a former heavyweight champion nor current. Hasim didn't really run, he had to fight his mandatory or get stripped, he was FORCED to fight Maskaev even though talks back then were clear that he wanted Toney instead. Also, Toney didn't really do much to guarantee a title shot, losing to Peter twice did nothing for him but earned Peter a shot at the title instead. As Rahman was forced to fight his mandatory, Peter and Toney had to fight and sort out who gets the title shot to Rahman's title. Another good question comes up here, if Toney was so interested in Klitschko why did he target Rahman?, because everyone knew that Rahman was the weakest champion at the time and Toney couldn't beat him so go figure. He lost to Peter twice. I agree that the champions didn't beat him but he didn't beat them either and you know why. :good I never said he's a failure, all I said that he's NOT a Heavyweight ATG, if he was he would be a champion by now rather than struggle against the likes of Batchelor and lose to Peter twice. What has he accomplished in the division?, not losing to champion and not beating them either?, come on. Holyfield IS washed up but against a fraud like Valuev anyone would look prime material in there because we all know that Valuev SUCKS and doesn't even belong in boxing. Judging by Toney's performances before he became a heavyweight I can safely say he's washed up and it's only worse now. You either don't know what you're talking about or just typing anything. Wladimir isn't the one responsible of ranking these guys, the titles have rankings and when they have Arreola as #1 and Povetkin as #1 all Wladimir can do is fight them. Wladimir already said that Povetkin is green but can he make the decision to ignore fighting him and get stripped?, that's not exactly unifying now is it? If Povetkin and his team reached #1 and openly stated they're ready then Wladimir's job is to fight him or get stripped, he has no other choice and it's not like the division is packed with far better choices. :deal It's funny how you consider Arreola and Povetkin GREEN but Haye who had two heavyweight fights in total is prime material who Wladimir is ducking.
He was still tested POSITIVE for roids, as was Batchelor so yes he DID need it just like he needed it for Ruiz. I can understand why Batchelor thought he needed it being as limited as he is, but why an ATG in Toney against someone like that?, even with both on roids it was a close SD with many actually picking Batchelor to win.
