I don't pick Haye to win, WLAD just was a punk to call his name after ViTKLiT said that he's got this one. Haye probably got in WLAD's head. Which is why the gamesmaster ViTKLiT jumped in, that's his area.
Keep talking, he's gonna keep talking till the contract is in front of him.. then he'll back out like he always does.
Toney is more deserving of another title opertunity than Holyfield was when he fought either Valuev or Sultan. Toney is an american name, something the Heavyweight division lacks, him and Holyfield are the only two american fighters still able to draw a crowd in the states. Toney may not beat Wlad, but he's no worse competition than guys like Austin, Rahman, and even Thompson. And as far as Arreola, the guy is a ****ing terrible boxer, he's clearly a poor mans Sam Peter. Wlad's toughest fights are Haye, Peter still, and the one man I would bet against Wlad on, Vitali, who would dominate him in the ring and make it look like the Sanders fight all over again.
Good points. Rahman throw a lot of illegal blows to the kidney area. Peter throw some vicious intentional rabbit punches in the first and especially in the second fight. I remember an intentional rabbit punch in the first of their rematch that could have knocked out about anyone. A DQ was not out of the question. Nobody questioined that JT is an ATG but not an ATG heavyweight. That should be enough aalong with his OK heavyweight record to give the man one last shot. IMO, Toney earns a shot more than Haye and Aroela due to his ATG status and tough competition at heavyweight. Toney has faced better competition at cruiserweight and heavyweight than Haye.
Yeah, Batchelder drugged too so it made no difference. What most people do not know, the fight is actually recorded as an offical Toney win.
Toney will get another shot at the title, if it's not Wlad it will end up being someone else. Toney still has the skills needed to beat nearly anyone outside the top 10, because he himself is top 15 Heavyweight right now. I remember I made the bold prediction that he would knockout Rahman in there last fight, and if not for the stoppage, I truly believe he would of. He was starting to counter beautifully, and land his combinations on Rahaman, who actually looked a little rocked in the 3rd round. Toney was in-shape that night, and it was the best I seen him since the Ruiz fight in the spring of 05. An in-shape Toney, gives almost any fighter a hard night, just ask Peter and Ruiz about that.
I agree. Toney put on a nice performance in the Rahman rematch. Toney needs a challenge to get in shape. I hope he gets one last big fight.
He will, he's too big of american draw not to. If he stays away from the roids and is serious about getting in-shape, he will get another title shot sooner than you think, my guess is late 09. If undeserving fighters like Vitali, Rahman, and Holyfield can all get title shots this year, there's absolutely no reason why Toney shouldnt get one either.
i agree...tony is dangerous to wlad if he comes in shape...if hes outta shape its an easy win for wlad!
Toney is THEE MAN right now jack. All he needs to do is get down to about 224, and live in Roach's gym for 5 months before the fight, and the Title is as good as ours!:good:good:good The Clitschko Sisters are finished.
