The Williams fight was a good one--grueling as hell. Williams came down from 175 to fight Toney at 168 and basically the two stood right in each other's grills the entire and infought.

Williams just leaned on Toney trying to use his bulk and Toney countered brilliantly with like only 2 or 3 inches of clearance, until the end, when he finally got at distance and cold-cocked Williams.

I always thought Toney could have made the fight easier if he would have stayed on the outside, spun off the ropes and countered, instead of just grinding on the inside. But he could have been suffering at the weight, and I seem to recall him saying he had the flu in the postfight interview.

    Awesome KO, though.

Good god, I was just watching the Peter-Toney clip from the menu...Peter is a total bum, he is so slow and ponderous, no technique at all.
How people think he could possibly compete with Wlad is beyong me..

Toney was a monster in those days, the bigger Prince Charles was leaning on him and trying to rough him up the whole fight, but Toney didn't take a backward step (like poofter Mayweather does) and stood his ground and wore the guy down with skill and craft combined with being hard as ****.

You know you are talking about a great fighter when as clean a shot as this one isn't even their best KO. Check out how badly Charles wobbles about at about 1:45 of the 12th. Its almost like he had the intent of playing possum but his brain wouldn't cooperate.
