He didnt look THAT hurt. He did dodge every single punch the guy threw after that.

I have no idea just how hurt or otherwise Toney was, and it was only one shot.

But it's still concerning that he got hit with that shot in the first place. It wasn't a really fast punch from Greer nor is he a big hitter, but Toney neither defended nor reacted quick enough to dodge that one. The others yes, but if he really is fighting someone heavy handed like a Wladimir then giving that opening for a right hand is a very bad idea.

I don't think it needs more reaction than that. Let's just say it's a warning shot to Toney that he needs sharpening up yet.

I agree that Toney was not 217 in this fight I just dont buy that for one second, he looks the same as he did last time out.

Are you guys talking about the punch at :17? He got hit cleaned but where was he rocked? In fact he immediately landed a clean left uppercut a second later and dodged a dozen punches. Sure he got hit, but that often happens to him when he fights guys he doesn't respect. He's a great defensive fighter, but not a guy like Mayweather or Hopkins who is extra cautious not to get hit.

I think it would be great if he fought guys like this a couple more times this year, get some sharpness back, tighten up a little more. His handspeed and accuracy seemed much better, and he wasn't throwing those looping overhand rights he'd fallen in love with his last few fights, the punches were shorter and sharper this time.

I thought it was a pretty good showing, a few more and he'll be able to step up a bit. I know everyone is down on him, but it's not entirely implausible he could get a belt if a guy like valuev still had it.

yeah right, Toney fled to the HW division to avoid the powerpunching Calzaghe...

Like I said, you should stop posting this crap and just concentrate on shooting some more self-portraits.

Definitely hurt. Wobbling back to the ropes right after a punch is a normal reaction if you aren't hurt..right? :nut

Looking like it might have caught him to the side of the head actually, maybe his equilibrium went for a second.

He's 5'10". He's still gonna look flabby at 217. He's never going to be a trim HW.

He was hurt, but he weathered it and went on to take the guy out.

Can't see it necessarily as a bad thing, cause TOney proved he can still take a flush shot from a heavyweight, and not crumble.

But anyway, its amazing how Toney still looks overly fat, even at this weight. LOL Maybe he'd look leaner at 205 or so.
