But I believe if a mma fighter is to be called the greatest striker on the planet it lends him credibility for him to then go out and prove it in either boxing or muay thai/kickboxing.

I think that would be the thing that would add to the credibility of MMA. when MMA fighters are able to compete with thier boxing or muay thai counterparts. not that they need to but it would prove their skill level.
