You guys are so incompetent. It was Wladimir and not Vitali who offered Toney a fight for a about 3 million if I recall right. We did not know the exact terms and if there really was an offer on the table. Toney claims there was never no concrete offer. Anyway, Toney had such high rankings at the time. He was mandatory for Ruiz and elected to fight him. He wanted to fight the Klits as WBA champ because the fight would have been much bigger. It was striclty a business move. On othe hand, Toney offered himself to fight Wlad as a late substitute but Wlad chose Chagaev which was also business move. IMO, nobody is ducking nobody so far.
Again incompetence. Toney injured himself severely during sparring for the McCline fight. Guys like Doug Fischer, Steve Kim and severly other witnesses were around and they heard it crack. There was no doubt the injury was real. Toney did not fight for over a year after that. .
Well if Toney wants to fight a Klitschko, it's going to be against Vitali. Wladimir is fighting Chambers next, unless Chambers loses his mandatory status.
You might have a bad memory but i remember that before Vitali retired from boxing, he offer Toney to fight him in september 2005 but Toney turn it down.
i like Tooney he is one of the greates Boxer but he is old and have no chance too beat the Sisters sorry
Yes, about september 2005 is righ as he fought Ruiz in April 2006. As far as I can remember it was Wlad and not Vitali who offered the fight. Toney is not afraid of Wlad but fought an easier opponent in Ruiz. It was a business move just as Wlad fought Chagaev instead of Toney. Anyway, Toney needs to get a couple of impressive wins before claimimg that the Klits are ducking him. He has not turned the pressure on the Klits sisters because Greek was a journeyman.
Toney got rocked in his last fight by fellow pregnant opponent Geerer(or whatever). http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169006 ANY Toney fan in this thread backing up Toney for calling out the Klitschkos wants to see Toney taken out in a KFC bag.
