James will fight as a heavyweight in May. Even if it is hard to believe, the weight might actually be accurate. I saw a video of him not too long ago where he appeared to be in pretty good shape. Toney still has enough left to give the Valuev's, chagaev's Gomez... good competitive fights.
I believe he's 225lbs right now, he looked surprisingly 'slim' in a recent vid, no more than 230 lbs. But him dropping down to CW is nonsense, no way he can do that, and if he would it'd kill him. Toney should try to get down to a weight between 215-220lbs, that's the weight he should fight at at HW.
cutting 24lb from a frame like toneys would take 10 to 12 weeks max with just moderate exercise and 1500 calorie a day diet. being 40 does not stop you losing weight, willpower is all you need.
I doubt it. Already Batchelder had enough to give Toney competitive fight. Do not mention Rahman II - I think those three rounds against shot Rahman, when Rahman was actuallly doing well untill the clash of heads, are rather indicating how shot is Toney. 225 would be decent weight, but still too high IMHO. Even at 217 against Holy Toney did not look especially ripped. Forget about CW. If he is serious it means he learned nothing from RJJ or Chris Byrd, and in his case the problem would be probably more serious. I think it is just too late for Toney.
Toney put on a good performance against Rahman II and I do not know what fight you were watching. Toney has enough left to give the likes of Valuev, cHagaev and Gomez more than just trouble.
