A prime Toney also was drained and out of shape against RJJ.

Toney is older and fatter than most (only most) of the HW guys out there and would still be the competitive fight out there for either Klit. If he wants to get up there he needs to fight Haye, if he can beat him (looking less and less likely with every fight) he can really get on their case for a shot.

of course a prime toney would stack agaisnt Floyd however Toney just doesnt have the same work ethic or discipline not just as Floyd but a lot of fighters just work harder than JT...like i said he is his own enemy.

The last time Toney fought going backwards was when he begrudgingly pushed away from the dinner table. How dare this sack of **** attack the insane skill set that Mayweather possesses. Love him or hate him, Mayweather possesses the greatest combo of technical skill and athleticism in the history of boxing. As others have mentioned, you can watch fights of his where he fights going forwards, backwards, laterally, inside, outside, while talking to Jim Lampley, etc. Toney is very skilled and a future hall of famer, but he clearly isn't right in the head. Also, I love how the same people that claim that Marquez was "too small" for Mayweather want him to fight the even smaller and lesser skilled Pacquiao.

At this point Toney's problem is more that he is old than that he doesn't have a work ethic.

Toney's just hyping himself up a bit here. He says that Floyd is a great fighter, and that the two fighting he wants to see Floyd take are Mosley and Pacquiao. He's saying the exact same thing every single person in the sport is saying! What's the problem.

I personally think Floyd gets way too much criticism, he fights for money and says as much. Toney fights for money too, but there is no doubt that he loves to take the fights people say he can't win, which Floyd is less interested in.

JT is more of a risk taker than Floyd....oops! James Toney has more BALLS than PBF. Look at their resumes, win or lose. For Money MAy 2 say he's da man @47 post-Baldomir is bullocks and...

Floyd can fight, but he needs 2 seriously test himself or he'll b known as a great Jr. LW and LW ONLY. 140, u gotta understand dat he was ducked. 47 he was da ducker...2 many solid names 4 him 2 tango wit...

nah no problem here...however his work ethic now and in the past has never been great....and what he is saying everyone istn saying....Floyd can fight numerous styles and has shown this throughout his career and the fact he has not had a loss dictates so...only thing legitimate in JT's quote is that yes floyd does not fight the fights he should but rather the Money fights....thats the only legitimate claim he has.

I agree with some of what Toney said, but his style and Floyd's are fairly different.

Floyd is better on his feet, Toney had FAR superior one punch power, and their styles reflect this difference. Toney's level of opposition was better, his level of consistency was obviously not. I hope as he moves closer to retirement he doesn't get too bitter and burn too many bridges, because he's such a f*cking character, and it would be a shame not to see him in TV studios or behind the mic once in a while.

Fought the best at 147? :huh Judah, Baldomir, and Hatton? That's some funny **** right there. At 154? A disinterested businessman who wanted another paycheck. How long have you been watching boxing?
