Toney-Jirov what a performance

Hell again tell me who special Haye has beat... Jirov ruled his division for years and had what 13 straght title defences... Toney that night is by far better then anyone Haye has ever beaten! He was a beast at his time how many jirov fights have you seen? Jirov was a lot more dominant at cruiser the Haye ever was!

 

I have seen many Jirov fights and yes he was at one point the best CW in the world but lets be honest the division was not exactly loaded with talent at that particular time.

He never dominated division and he never even got close to unifying so dont exaggerate.

Haye beat Mormeck who had only lost once in ten years and he at least had the WBC and WBA titles when Haye KOed him in Paris. Jirov has a better record than Haye at CW but I still think Haye would beat him easily.

I just find it interesting how highly regarded Jirov is by JT fans when back in the day many of the same fans fought he was ovverated.

 

Great fight. I thought it was fairly close off of Jirovs aggression, he fought like a man.

 

Manny Steward going wild on the mic was almost as entertaining as the 12th round

 

Agree on H2H matchup. Jirov got dropped by an equilibrium shot from a 250+ lb Moorer, nothing to be ashamed of. And also took an insane amount of shots from Mesi who was a legit puncher at Heavyweight.

Chin alone Jirov wins the fight.

The sad thing is that alot of ppl think of Jirov and his skillset from the Toney fight, as if the only think he had to offer was an insane workrate & all he could do is stand and trade.

I kind of view him like Kostya Tszyu, he had way more talent, footwork, defensive ability than he showed in most of his pro career. (although while i think Jirov's boxing ability is way underrated no doubt Tszyu was more talented)

Jirov would break Haye in half from body punching and the second he touched his chin, christ. Jirov was insanely aggressive and an awesome finisher.
