Really looking forward to this, hopefully Toney still has enough left to give us one last shock. My favourite Toney moments are: 1 The whole Iran Barkley fight, particularly the times where he has his back to the ropes, slipping Barkley's shots and catching him with beautiful short uppercuts and right hands. 2 Sticking his tongue out at Holyfield in the fifth round. Evander's got steam coming out of his ears because he can't land a clean shot on him. Toney's the most relaxed man I've ever seen in the ring, so calm it looks like he's not even breathing.
just watched his fight agaisnt greer and some of the reed fight and i'm actually more confident than i was previously. agaisnt reed he's morbidly obese, and it's painful to watch, but a 5 9 man carrying that kind of weight is gonna be that way. whereas against greer, u clearly see his diminished reflexes and general sluggishness, but the skills r still there, slipping, countering, body punching etc. ok the guys he was fighting were terrible, but i think if he's lost this weight the right way i.e. circuits type cardio rather than purely running, clean eating/living and a high protein diet then he's gonna win this.
This fights really begs the question why didn't that fat **** Toney make an effort to be in shape these last 5 years at heavyweight? He could have had his fight with a Klitschko quite easily then.
Really hope Toney puts up a good fight although I don't think he gets stopped the weight loss thing is starting to worry me a bit as a punch drunk 42 year old surely this isn't healthy.
Don't think the weight loss will affect him that much really. He's still fat, just less fat than before. He's probably only having one BK meal instead of 3.
Weight is not a indication of physical conditioning totally, James Toney looks terrible. I seriously think he has health issues, weather that be adrenal, thyroid, or testicular. But i still think he will win the fight, he's pure fighter! old school. Unlike that horrible *****, Bernard Hopkins.
