Wow thats some absolutely stunning logic  James Toney weighs 200lbs BEFORE he turns pro. His able to make 160 back in his early 20`s. Jones and Hopkins both fought at lower weight class`s and both have moved up gradually. Bearing in mind there ENTIRELY diffrent people with ENTIRELY diffrent bodytypes and ENTIRELY diffrent genetics but you think in your finite wisdom thats actually a valid comparison? Byrd made 175 after spending his entire career at heavy. Jones came down from heavy and suffered a brutal loss to Tarver after dropping 25lbs. Meanwhile Toney -who does have an eating disorder akin to the same weight fluctuations that Riddick Bowe and Buster Douglas went through- is now at his natural weight of 200lbs and over but you think he can make 68 at the age of 40? Good job your not training him aye. That kind of knowledge and advice is surely invaluable.
Let's wait and see, people were celebrating how slim he looked thanks to Billy Blanks before the second Peter fight, and he still ended up heavy. I expect him to be out of the 230s, but I feel something around 215-220 is a pipe dream.
Toney for second Peter fight. http://video.msn.com/video.aspx/?mk....foxsports.com/bestdamn&MSPPError=-2147217396 Link to Tv appearance 2 weeks before fight. This video also shows Rahman who appears to be in excellent condition.
Link to video of Toney and Rahman on the BDSS is causing my post to not go through. However, it's easily found if you know where to look, which I'm sure most of you do. Have to say he looks as slim, if not even a little slimmer than he did at the second Peter weigh-in two weeks out.
I can't believe people are STILL buying into this crap. I'd be a millionaire if a get a penny for everytime someone says "Toney is in a great shape this time!" a few weeks before a fight. Every single fight he had at heavyweight, he was supposed to be in shape "this time". For the Peter rematch he had a nutritionist, special diet, etc, he was gonna annihilate Peter! Toney barely got by Batchelder and lost every round to a rather crude Peter. Face it, 210 or 230lbs, the man is done.
That video mad me miss the times when boxing was at the forefront on a regular basis. When do we see boxers on these shows anymore? I hope this fight is entertaining and by that I mean I hope somehow Rahman gets knocked out. I hated when Wlad was on Conan and then put on a boring fight against Ibragimov, basically he probably got some more people to watch because of how likeable he is and then the fight was painfully boring.
