I don't see how anyone says Toney looks overweight from this photo,

You obviously can't tell alot from a clothed photo, but from what you can see, I think he looks like hes in much better condition than he's been in in quite some time. We shall see, though.

McCline is terrible, i wouldn't pay five cents to watch toney coast through that fight.

  4. Toney is to fat, short and old and has no power at Heavy, the last man he stopped at heavy was a shot holyfield 5 long years ago you guy's are dreaming if you think he can beat a much younger 6-6 giant with an 82 inch reach who will be much busier during the fight..
Thompson will win this fight and hopefully fatty can retire and eat all the big macs he wants and ballon up to 350lbs..

I will go with Thompson on this one. He has a long reach, is much bigger and is pretty frustrating to fight. Toney one the other hand is badly faded and has gotten old.

Toney has no chance in this fight and I think Dan Goosen knows it...i don't know why he would "sell out" James Toney with this fight though?

You would think if he is bringing the"lamb to the slaughter" he would set up a big money fight with one of the Klitschkos.

Oh well...on Dec 14th james will announce his retirement.

Rahman, today would assrape Thompson, and Toney owned his ass. I have no worries other than a Bull**** Thompson decision.

If Toney wants to fight Wlad, this is not a bad step up fight. Thompson isn't a push over, and has the size and reach that Toney needs to be able to deal with if he wants to endanger his life by facing a Klitschko at this stage of his life.

Thompson isn't exactly a spring chicken, nor does he have dynamite in his fists. If Toney is "done", Thompson won't kill him in the ring, and if Toney still has something left he's got a good chance to prove it.

I can't see Toney Stopping Thompson, there's nothing in Thompson's record that makes a TKO win for Toney likely. And, I can't see Toney getting stopped by Thompson, unless he is really, really shot.

Prediction, a close decision victory, perhaps even split (if Toney is ready).
I'd only want Toney to fight Wlad (never Vitali) if he actually manages to truly dominate Thompson.

Frankly, if the fight stinks, both guys might consider calling it a career. Neither one (especially Toney) needs the task of being a Gatekeeper opponent against dangerous up and coming fighters (if any ever show up!) ;-)

Bigger guys are as easy for Toney, as Paris Hilton after 2 bottles of wine on an empty stomach. And Thompson and Hilton will land up the same way after. ****ed, bleeding, and defeated.

Couldn't put it better. Toney better get his fat ass in shape and take this fight dead serious. Toney will always be my favourite fighter, due to his past achievements in the ring, but there's a limit to our patience. If he can't beat Tony Thompson anymore there's no need continuing his career. Now Tony Thompson is underrated and dangerous but a fit Toney is supposed to outbox him easily.

What's more, I believe if Toney takes this opponent lightly and shows up out of shape he will not only not be able to win this fight, but he may even catch another beating à la Peter II, and nobody wants to see that.

Of course you can't tell alot from a clothed photo, but to me he looks like he always did the last few years at these press-conferences - which would indicate him coming in between 230 and 235 lbs. That's too much. Toney has to get his fat black ass down to 225lbs at most, like he did for Rahman II. Word on the street was that Toney stayed in the gym after the Rahman II fight and that he was in 'great' shape, so seeing these pics is kinda disappointing. Well, let's wait until the weigh-in...

Exactly, Toney has to get his fat ass down to 225 for this one .Weighing beteween 230 and 238 won't do it this time. It is Do or DIE now, and James better be ready.

I guess that the general consensus even among hardcore Toney fans is that James needs to perform or to retire!!! Toney is definitely under pressure for this one...

    Can't agree more.

Even if you are a fan of Toney, that does not mean that you have to approve everything he does. Toney fans are not like those biased Haye or Clalzaghe fans here. They can be critical and that is the difference .
