According to you "Rahman had nothing to worry about"???? This is ridiculous, did you even watch the fight? Rahman was taken into deep water by Toney who was beginning to shake the ring rust of and got better each round. Be real, Rahman took the easy way out, even most of his fans agree with that statement.

The Ruiz and Rahman II were real wins that were taken away. Toney wooped Ruiz silly, and he was the rightful champion. The Peter I was grand theft larceny. Toney actually hurt Peter later in the fight. You could say Toney could have done better by not leaving it to the judges. But, Toney won.

I hope Toney gets to fight Haye or for a championship very soon, because he deserves to have one more big shot in the ring. The boxing fans deserve to see him fight for one more title. Also, he doesn't have many more years left, so he should get the shots now.

No matter what you think about Toney, one thing you have to give him credit for, no HW can knock him out so far.

yours is a bull**** post. I scored the fight before looking at the punchstats. I never said i base my opinion on punchstats. I am merely saying that the punchstats support my score. you're saying "I only base my opinion on punchstats." but thats a total lie. I based my opinion on the fight itself.

I will rewatch the fight, though i don't have it anymore so it might take a while to donwload it, and will rescore it. I'll post a rbr when i do and then you can break it down all you want. But i hope you don't come up with more rediculous comments like "You only base your opinion that Peter won on those dubious punch stats from Box Rec"

  7. Peter 1, was a close fight thats why there was a rematch, and Peter clearly whipped his fat ass in the rematch:deal
Rules are rules and he tested positive for roids against Ruiz so he didn't win plain and simple, besides you have to be a sorry **** to use Steriods to fight huggy bear Ruiz:-(
Rahman 2, was a NO CONTEST:deal waht part of NO CONTEST don't you understand:huh besides Rahman clearly won the 1st fight but it was scored a draw BULL**** :patsch :think :verysad :-(
jesus christ the Toney BALLHUGGING:asskiss ON THIS BOARD HAS GOTTEN ****ING RIDICULOUS..

I stated that because no other arguments were provided by you why Peter should have won the fight. It is just hard to believe that while being objective, you scored that fight 116-111 as the vast majortity disagrees with you. How you can score only 3 rounds for Toney is beyond me.

So what, Toney is my fav. fighter, what's wrong with my avatar? You have a Linares avatar, I'm not making fun of that either...

I have watched the fight 2 times on TV, I've rewatched it now on youtube, without sound, and scored it again. Here's my score:

Round 1: Toney - Toney outjabbed Peter and landed a couple nice right hands too
Round 2: Toney - Toney landed some jabs and some good right hands, Peter landed two good right hands, some glancing blows and some (illegal) rabbit punches to the back of the head.
Round 3: Toney - Toney again landed some jabs and counter right hands, Peter brawled a lot but only connected with 3 clean punches
Round 4: Peter - Toney landed a couple of jabs, Peter was more active but didn't land anything of note
Round 5: Peter - Peter hurt Toney (with a rabbit punch to the back of the head...)
Round 6: Toney - more holding & hitting by Peter, but Toney scores nice counter right hands and a few good left hooks too
Round 7: Toney - Toney slips and ducks nearly all of Peters punches while landing jabs and counter right hands
Round 8: Peter - close round, both men land big right hands
Round 9: Toney - Peter throws wild and is missing, he's not landing a single clean punch. Toney scores some more counter right hands. Peter gets deducted a point for rabbit punching.
Round 10: Peter - good action-filled round as both men trade and land big shots
Round 11: Toney - not much action, Peter is more active but lands literally nothing of note, Toney lands very few but clean shots
Round 12: Toney - Peter is more active but misses a lot, Toney sneaks in some counter right hands.

That's 8 rds to 4 for Toney, together with the point deduction the score is 116-111 for Toney. Even if you gave the last two rds to Peter, it would still be 114-113 for Toney. Rounds 8 and 10 were very close, I gave them both to Peter so you can't say that I'm biased. There's no way one can score this fight for Peter.

I's true that Peter may have been the more active fighter, he did indeed throw a lot of leather, but 90% of that missed, or connected to Toneys shoulders, arms and chest (and a lot of the other punches were illegal rabbit punches to the back of Toneys head). Compubox may have counted these blows when in reality these punches don't count, same as with punches that connect to the guard don't count, simple as that. Toney clearly landed more cleaner punches. Peter may also be the more powerfull puncher, but what's that worth when he misses his punches or can't hurt Toney with them?

Round 1/Toney : Toney outjabbed the bigger man and Peter misses with his big punches. The round was close until the last 30 seonds then Toney clearly took over.

Round 2/Toney: Peter spurts at the end of the round but it is too late, Toney outboxed him for the most part.

Round 3/Peter : Peter wobbles Toney with a big right at the end of the round.

    Round 4/Peter: Close round.

Round 5/Peter : Peter hurts Toney in that round.

Round 6/Toney: good powerful exchanges, but Toney seals the round by hurting Peter with a couple left hook at the end of the round.

Round 7/Toney : Toney outjabbed Peter.

Round/8 Peter: Gave credit to Peter's hard body punches

Round 9/ Toney : Peter is completely frustrated, 10-8 Toney

Round 10/ even : close round.

Round 11/Toney: Toney dominates the round

Round 12/ Toney: Toney wins the round convingingly

I got it 7-4-1 for Toney and there was a point deduction. Even if you score the 10th for Peter, Toney wins this one by a three point margin.
