Toney or Mayweather Jr - Best Counter-puncher

Very true! When fighting on the inside, I've never seen anyone as comfortable as Toney, slipping and countering with such fluidity.
Floyd prefers staying on the outside, relying on his amazing reflexes and athleticism to make you pay.

 

we are basically looking at the same fighter, w/ Floyd being much more versitile then Toney but I give the edge to May, he can counter from the outside or right in front of you

 

I prefer Toney's right hand counter. Mayweather's pull counter is based upon just being in range and leaning slightly back, so it is effective only from range. Toney can counter better in close and at mid range as well as from a distance.

 

Weren't these guys neighbors growing up?

 

Toney. Seems so much more natural. Not to say that learned skills through athletics aren't as good, just that through it being more natural and flowing he also seems to be more effective with it.

 

James Light's Out Toney is possibly the greatest counterpuncher of all time.
