Bull****. And it will be overturned shortly...book it.

If they allow this, Evander will come back and be heavyweight champion of the world...

The man couldn't see, what was he going to do?
And saying he can't see is as much a cry for help as most proud boxers will say.

This. If the doctor thought Rahman was just pussing out, he could have let the fight go on, and I'm pretty sure Rahman would have come out for the next round regardless. In any case, he wasn't given the opportunity to do so.

I really think rahman got hurt in the third and was looking for a way out , im not sure how the rules imply to this circumstance or do i care ... bad call???maybe..but rock wasnt wanting the fight anymore thats for sure and thats really all that matters to me.

The corner was "working the cut" when the doctor stopped the fight. Bottom line is that the doctor called the fight off that can't be disputed. The doctor knows this but was "waffling" in the post fight interview saying that he based his decision solely on that Rahman said he couldn't see. If Rahman's word is not enough, than the doctor should have evaluated the cut (i.e., do his damn job) before saying the fight is stopped. Rahman got screwed because he had no option - once a doctor stops the fight, that's it. The doctor could've said "no rock the cut is not that bad yet, i can't stop it". Then Rock would have to continue (or decide to accept a TKO - doubtful). TOTALLY BULL**** CORRUPT DECISION.

Rahman bitched about a cut that was nothing compaired to many cuts that most of us boxing fans have seen people fight on with. i say it was just bad karma for Rahman for trying to take a low route. he deserved that decision.

with all of that said though, if the fight was stopped specifically because of the headbutt, then it is the wrong call from what i understand about the rules. but to me, it looked like Rahman was trying to give up after the 3rd so they gave him the loss for it.

    Rahman ****ed himself.

It's the doctor's job to protect the fighter. If any fighter tells the doctor I can't see the doctor is goin stop the fight. The doc saw that it's wasn't the cut that was causing any vision problems so he stopped the fight cause Rack couldn't see for whatever reason.

The cut had nothing to do with the stoppage.

Also, why should Rock want to fight with a gash over his eye which was caused by a headbut and not a punch. It's only gonna get worse and toney is slick enough with two good eyes = I mean why set yourself up to lose a decision because your vision is ****ed up? But again this all doesn't matter, Rahman had no option to continue because of what the Doctor did not what he did.

Great Decision. Rahman was clearly trying to ***** out and he got what he deserved. A loss. Its a fight, be a man about it and fight, don't look for an excuse to get a no decision because the guy was getting to you. Rahman needs to go watch Gatti-Ward and Corrales-Castillo 1 to see how a real fighter fights and doesn't quit.

The doctor barely saw **** because he barely did his job. The doctor never said the cut had nothing to do with it. He went over to the corner because of the cut asked if Rahman could see and Rahman said no, and the doctor called it off. It wasn't for "whatever" reason, the doc basically said he took rahman's word that he couldn't see because of the cut. It it weren't for the cut, the doctor wouldn't even have been involved.

    :blood

He should have fought on because that's what any fighter with a pair of balls would have done. If he rocked Toney in the third round and not the other way around you think he tells the doc he can't see???

The doctor looked at the cut and deemed that he was fine to continue then Rock started saying how he couldn't see THEN the doctor stopped the fight.

Either way he got what he deserved the ****in ***** that he is.

Rahman rocked toney a couple of times here or there. Toney didn't have him on ***** street or anything. Bottom line is it was a gash caused by a headbut, what else is there to talk about. It's a matter of time before it's gushing and Rock was obviously effected by it, so although a baslier move would be to fight on regardless, but a smart move especially against the slick toney is to accept the doctor's stoppage (which is what the doctor did).

I saw and heard the tape several times and I never caught the doc say anything to the effect that it was OK == even the announcers admitted such on a Goosen Tutor telecast. (Although they both concluded that somehow Toney was gonna stop him eventually    ) The doctor didn't do **** but look from a distance talk to rock and his corner and said he says he can't see, the fights off.

    thats how i feel.

you know when a fighter has vision problems because theyre constantly messing with their bad eye trying to get the blood out of the way and such. remember Pacquiao vs. Marquez II when Pac couldnt see in the 8th or 9th round?

i watched the 3rd round two or three times in this fight and Rahman clearly had no trouble seeing James Toney the whole round, you can even see that Rahman had both of his eyes open when he was crying to the doctor.
