Toney-Rahman fight result changed to No Decision?

Rahman back in play?? Because he got some hack commision to give him the unjust result he was angling for when he QUIT??

The only thing Rahman is "in play" for is another fight with Tony, where James will finish the job of knocking this bum out, or perhaps serving as cannon fodder for Haye.

Rahman is a(nother) knockout waiting to happen. The only question is who shatters his glass jaw THIS time.

you guys are a joke. do you know how to read? rules are ****ing rules. it dont matter if rock was looking for a way out. let me tell you something. i like both fighters and if i were rock and i got a cut that was impairing my vision in a fight that is against someone like toney. well then why take the risk.

are any of you pro fighters? you know vision can be screwed up by a punch. well he took a headbutt to his face. his cut was also pretty bad. you all must have not been looking. when it was cleaned up it didnt look bad but i bet the second he went out there and got punched on it, it would have been streaming again. also blood did get into his eye and whos to say that couldnt of maybe blurred his vision

The fight was NOT stopped because of the CUT, it was stopped because Rahman QUIT.

rahman was right. even if he IS LYING AND QUIT rules are rules. i like both fighters but when i saw that fight the first thing i said was wow a ND since rahman cant continue due to a headbutt. when they said TKO i was like WOW thats BS

why do you think they reversed the decision so fast. usuallt it takes months to do this sometimes. they did it cause it was so cut and dry

 

The cut wasn't bad enough to stop the fight.

exactly. no one can prove it. we have to take it for what it is. if he got hit with a punch and couldnt see thats a tko. rahman even said if he was cut/vision impaired to a punch he would have gone for broke.

also the cut was pretty bad. not vitali bad but it was going to get worse and the blood was seeping into his eye

 

The thing is that Toney bothered to get into some semi decent shape for this fight. He lacks eating discipline at the best of times. He may now just think sod it, and already has piled on ridiculous poundage.

 

Oh please, that cut was not close to warrenting a stoppage, IF the fighter had the will to continue. Rahman didn't. He QUIT, thinking he could get exactly the outcome this hack commission rewarded him with. All this does is to encourage fighters to punk out in fights they think they're gonna lose, just like Rahman did.

Toney was only bitchin for a TKO because he needs that for his record.

How many other people are "hacks"? Chris Byrd during the telecast said, "it should be a no decision". All these people that are actually involved in the sport more than most folks here CAN'T be wrong..

 

Oh really, if thats the case genius then why suddenly was Toney able to easily land over hand rights?? It was only the 3rd round and he barely threw them before? You're saying (as skilled as he is) James suddenly got a burst of energy to land straight flush rights? Come on.

The cut was bleeding after the head but and during the round.

 

Depending on the exact rule on stopping a fight, I can see how people are pissed that the result was changed. What I don't understand is how some are so sure that based upon 1 good round by toney, where rahman was at least pretty bothered by the cut, that toney was gonna ko rock. Neither guy looked spectacular but both showed improvement from their most recent form IMO. Before the cut rock was able to control toney. They should do it again and soon or at least both should look for a fight soon.
