This is just fk unbelievable, what a disgrace for boxing. With its overruling the commission may very well have killed Toney's carrer.

Yes, this could be the end for Toney as without any rankings in the sanctioning bodies he will can not enter the WBA Tournament.

Haye will now rather fight Rahman as this is an easier fight for him.

What was the point anyway of this overruling?? It was not not a clear cut case as arguments could be made for both sides, so they should have sticked with the original decision. Maybe some influence by Arum changed their mind.

Besides, Byrd does not like Toney so he is always gonna be biased against him.

    I told you peeps so!!!

The reason why Rahman cannot continue is because of an "accidental headbutt" . . . which happened before the fourth . . . if it happened after the fourth round . . . then it should go to the scorecards.

    Very simple! :yep

thats what you get for having rookie ass doctors in there. what happened to the famous line "one more round" . gatti, ward, tyson, vargas, guys like that would have to be carried out on their backs before they QUIT!! Rahman QUIT like a ***** in a big time fight on live TV. just like chavez did against randall in fight 2, just like Leija did against micky ward, just like camacho jr did against leija.

Well that's his problem isn't it? It's not like it's the commission's responsibility for him to be in shape.

Toney should not waste time with that loser Rahman. In the next fight Rahman would be looking more ways to quit and manipulate rules.

You better do it in one round. Or he will quit and manipulate rules to get ND

rules are rules get ovet it toney nut swingers

i bet if it were toney in that position people would have been saying **** that rock didnt stop toney it should be a ND.

you guys make me laugh. it dont matter if the CUT wasnt bad enough to warrant a stoppage. rock said he couldnt see. also he was asking if it was a headbutt that caused it cause he said if thet ruled it a punch he would have gone back out there

if im rahman and i know this is my last fight do or die why am i going to give toney a huge advantage when EVERYONE knows a headbutt caused the cut. he said the blood got into his eye and messed up his vision. i believe it he went to his corner and they were cleaning blood that CLEARLY was near or in his eye region

you guys need to just shut up, 99% of you arent even pro fighters

So you have to be pro fighter to follow the sport. And it couldn’t have been Toney in that position because he would have continued and beaten ***** ass Rahman regardless.

Even Wladimir Klitchko get far more serious cut against Thompson before the fourth round and he didn’t quit. It was an accidental head but that caused it so he could have quit, retain he’s title and get the purse money regardless. But he chose to fight and knocked Thompson out.

That what pro fighters are suppose do. Not manipulate rules in hope of getting bull**** draws.

Actually I haven’t seen that kind of a ***** move in long time. Yet you are talking like its perfectly normal fighters to try to escape with no decision when they are losing the fight.

I swear, this time next month I expect people to say Toney had torn off one of Rahman's arms and was beating him with it.

He landed a few good rights. He wasn't tearing away like the end of Tyson-Thomas.

I disagree a little bit. It does matter that the doctor decided that the cut was not severe enough to warrant a stoppage. If the fighter thinks that his vision is not clear but the doctor does not, it is clearly by the rules a NO-CONTEST.

The point is that the cut was never examined because the officials were simply too amateurish. An argument can be made that the fight can not be stopped because of the cut as the doctor never made a medical assesment about the cut.

Nevertheless, this overruling is just a shame for the fans who will now see Rahman-Hayed instead of Toney-Haye.

the doctor cant say YOU CAN SEE RAHMAN YOURE LYING.

if the headbutt happened later then the doc would say ok scorecards and its in the judges hands. since it was before the 4th then the doc has no choice but to say this is a NC/ND

im not saying what rock did was right. if he could see and did this, its a ***** move, but rahman has fought with cuts in the past. why pull this now?

I get your point, but I thimk you are mistaken as the doctor is perfectly in position to say YOU CAN SEE RAHMAN YOURE LYING. BY THE RULES it is up to doctor and not to the fighter to finally make the decision if Rahman vision is clear enough to continue. In this case he decided that yes so it is a by the rules a TKO. In case of a smaller cut this becomes even more obvious.

However, given the fact that the officials were amateurish, i do not know if all procedures were respected. They should have sticked with their original decision because in the end it is us fans who have lost.
