Much better fight than Toney-Oquendo imo. Rahman and Toney still have unfinished business. The loser should definitely retire. If both look lackluster, they both should retire after that fight. That said, Toney wins by UD. Rahman had one of his best performances against Toney in his first fight while Toney was in his worst shape ever, he was slow and had no timing, and still Rahman couldn't beat him... he might have outworked him, but he didn't land **** on Toney besides a couple jabs. Toney landed the better punches, so the draw was correct imo. Both fighters are faded, but Toney knows it's do or die this time, so he will be in better shape than in the first fight while Rahman will perform worse, that's why I think why Toney will win this one.
I had almost forgotten about these two, after Maskaev fell, I was sure the whole Recycled HW phase was over, but these two have to ruin it again. This is the last fight I wana see, I hope neither HBO or Showtime waste any of their boxing dates for this fight.
I am curious to see in what condition Toney gets himself into for a do or die fight at this stage of his career. I doubt he'd be able to get another decent name to fight him, if he blows this chance. Call me a rebel, but I am leaning towards Rahman to get himself in condition, and win a decision over Toney.
After watching Toney struggle against that walking can in his last fight and Rahman struggle with the last somewhat live body he faced (Taurus Sykes) I think we're looking at a real toss up here. That said if both guys know it's their chance, This could be real entertaining.
Gonna be interesting to see what both their weights are gonna be. Also gonna be interesting to see if JT can pass a roid testing!
A perfect example of a fight that will be decided on the scales. I suspect Rahman, who at least comes into the ring in good shape when it really matters, will win.
Rahman.Toney has been off for a year, is shot, will be out of shape, and is forty years old. Rahman is past his best, but he comes in in decent shape at least. Hasim outoworks him.
I ain't going to make a predicition until closer to the fight. I want to see how fat Toney is going to be for this one. I am leaning toward Rahman based on the fact that he should have won the first fight and he has been more active.
This **** fight is indicative of the present state of the HW division. At least things have improved in the past year. Whoever wins it won't amount to anything, because both are too far past it.
