I think Toney will beat Rahman if he has gotten himself together. He looks good. We will soon find out.

I have already posted in another thread that Toney should retire . . . it's not cool as you may sound.

But on incurring a brain damage? I'm not worried about that. Toney is not the kind of brawler type fighter who gets heavily punished in his fights . . . especially with head shots. In fact the guy has never lost via K.O.

 

Just like he did first time around when before he was having life and death struggles with the like of Batchelder, right?

 

More like he dominated Peter in a first fight actually. Same Peter that knocked out Oldleg. Remember same Oleg who knocked Out Rahman couple of years ago

 

Toney had a longer career than most pros out there, but I don't think he has taken more punishment. He didn't get caught flush with big shots that often. The big rabbit punching by Peter in both fights was dangerous and may have done some damage, Peter should've got disqualified for that. I think Toneys heavy sparring has done more harm to his body (several injuries...) than to his brain. He doesn't slur his speech, it's just the way he talks, it's always been like that. Let's see how he looks this evening, if he doesn't look the way he should, with good reflexes, he should retire, even if he wins.

Naw James still has all his faculties....he just has that kind of voice and accent. He's always sounded like he does now. If you really want to know all you have to do is check his fights out....he rarely ever takes a clean shot.....he has taken a few but not enough to cause brain damage. The most I ever seen JT get hit flush was in his last fight with peter, but again...JT has preserved a lot of his career not by staying in shape and not smoking and drinking, but by not taking punishment.
